The location is perfect, lots of bars and small shops around. I was here on new year's eve so I know that some things may be different than any other day of the year. But you have to be careful in the area at night, my boyfriend almost got his wallet stolen by a pickpocket right in front of the... More

Just returned today from a weekend in Barcelona and had this booked for me due to a change plans with our group, This was chosen as only a few yards from where the rest of the group were staying and what a dump. Now i dont mind a budget hotel but this was like something out of an american movie... More

I stayed here during the Festival of Mercé for about €80/night. The price was right, the location is great; just a 2 minute walk from Las Ramblas and the Liceu metro station... very easy to find. We had reliable free wifi, a fridge, fan, and air conditioning. The downside? Our room looked nothing like the pictures. We had a window... More

The location is amazing! It's about the only thing this hostel has going for it, well except for the friendly staff. The rooms are very small and warm, and there were lots of ants in the bathroom...the stairs leading up are so narrow you can barely move, never mind carry a case. Maybe for one or two nights this place... More

Located centrally on Las Ramblas. About 10 minute walk from Placa Catalunya where you can catch the airport bus. A minute walk from Liceu metro station, where the rest of the sights and touristy spots can be easily accessed from. Very close to the Gothic Quarter. Plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes, pubs etc nearby. Free wifi, excellent signal.

Stayed for 1 night. For it's price very reasonable hostal. Don't expect luxurious or spacious rooms. Staff was friendly, breakfast was ok, location is good (close to market). The room was clean, but small. Especially the bathroom was rather small. Aircon was a bit cold, compared to outside temperatures.

Stayed for 3 nights. Shocked at first as it was more of a youth hostel rather than a hotel as advertised. Room was ok but with old bed and furniture. Not good value for money. Only choose as a last resort.

This is a great little hotel. It's clean, beds are very comfortable. It's very basic, the staff are very friendly. Excellent location. If you have a room that faces the alley (as we did) it can be very noisy at night but this is easily solved with ear plugs. Shower room was clean, shower was hot. Can't ask for anything... More

good points - staff very friendly, reasonable price and a fantastic location. bad points - 1. after spending 3 nights there my friend and i went home with several bites all over our bodies from what i've deduced can only be either bed bugs or fleas. we had some friends staying in a different hotel and they managed to escape... Excellent location, right by a metro station and Las Ramblas and walking distance to many attractions and right by shops, restaurants and bars. We stayed in a private room with an ensuite washroom and a balcony. We had no issues, except I would note that the shower was very tiny and the stairwell is super tiny! The room was nothing... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
