Hostal Girona is perfectly adequate for budget travelers to Barcelona - clean, basic rooms and not too far from the city center. However, the rooms and hallway are a bit dark (plus very irritating automatic lights in the hallway that won't stay on more than 15 seconds), and the location is not ideal. Additionally, our double room had a shower... More

Spent three nights here with spouse on recent visit of Barcelona. Access to public transportation is excellent and the Aerobus is a short 15 minute walk away. We checked into room 16, a double with shower and sink in room but shared toilet. As for amenities in the room, there is liquid soap at the sink and free wifi. What... More

Very good location, with in 1 mile from most important places in Barcelona. A little difficult to find, but go inside gate, take elevator to first floor, door on left. You can leave your stuff and use their fridge to store food.

Two friends and I stayed at the Hostal Girona late March for 2 days. This is definitely one of the better priced value hostels located in a pretty central area. We were only a few minutes walk from the Aerobus - Placa de Catalunya (final) stop. It was very convenient to catch the Aerobus and arrive at our hotel within... More

Easy to find. Grand entrance, but once you pass the doorstep... Reception lady on her cellphone. Never stopped to greet us. We had to stop her. Told us ''Room not ready, put your luggage here''. Had to ask at what time room would be ready. Another customer was waiting to be checked out. Receptionist did not pay her any attention,... More

Located in a charming old buiding about 3 floors up (has a small lift) in the Eixample area. Room has a nice enclosed patio area. On the negative side, rooms are very small and walls very thin. A/C is not available except during summer. We also had cold showers on one of our mornings there. Some of the staff did... More

Good all around spot. Can't complain. great deal considering how expensive other hotels in the area are. great for walking distance to everything. The room was clean, and we were pleasantly surprised by the rooms balcony as well. Added some space and light to the room.

This is like an apartment, and can make you feel like you live in Barcelona. The staff was very nice, and I enjoyed the stay very much. I especially liked the entrance area. There was a nice cafe a few blocks away for a fresh orange juice and good salad and pastries.

This is a fantastic place to stay, especially if you are a heavy sleeper. It has a very impressive entrance and nice furnishings, and is one of the cleanest places I've ever stayed in! The man in charge is really lovely. It is in a great location - a quiet street but near to the central square of the city!... More

Located in the Eixample, just a few block from the Plaza de Catalunya. It's convenient to the airport bus, the Ciutat Vella and the Passeig de Gracia. Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
