Situated on La Ramblas so very convenient for sightseeing. Our bedroom did not have a view but this did not matter as there,is nothing to see except other buildings. La Rambla is considered the street to be on as it links the city to the port. I believe this is over rated much like the rest of Barcelona which is... More

This hotel is nicely located next to El Gotic area and right on Plaza Cataluya. Staff and pleasant and helpful working to make the stay worthwhile and memorable. The rooms are really spacious with good space in the bathrooms (even jetted tubs).

I really wish I could give 5 stars to this hotel. But the reviews are supposed to be honest, so fellow travelers can make their best choice. And the hotel management to hear what their guests think. I stayed in the smallest room (this is what I paid for), no window, facing the street (but facing a wall with very... More

High attention to security at the hotel, room (OK for price considering was inferior to others), location good if you want to be close to the edgier Ramblas (as opposed to beachside). Recommend not eating on ramblas, better options on the side streets all walking distance.

We had a Ramblas Deluxe room and it was a lovely, spacious and luxurious room. The staff were helpful and the hotel was beautifully maintained. I do have a couple of negative comments though. 1. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room - this is poor for a high standard hotel. 2. All bookings are room only (breakfast... More

I would highly recommend this property. Every staff member we encountered were incredibly helpful. The location is PRIME. Literally right off of Las Ramblas. If you come from the airport, it's super convenient--take the A1 bus and get off at Placa de Catalunya (3 stops total) and it drops you off about a 5 min walk from the hotel. Couldn't... More

This is a good hotel in an excellent location. The good points are that it is has a relatively big room for a hotel in this part of the city. Two beds that are side by side. The beds can be adjusted going up or down similar to a bed in the hospital. This for me is good for those... More

We loved this hotel. It is perfectly located within a few blocks walk of all the sites you want to see. Plaza Catalyna where the airport bus arrives and the hop on / hop off buses depart, the Rambla (highly over rated, a bit down at the heels), crowded), the Picasso Museum, the Barcelona Cathedral, the old section of town,... We could not fault this hotel. We had an amazing room with a huge bathroom. The facilities in the room were numerous. All the staff were friendly and helpful. They made the holiday even more special with their kind attention. Barcelona is an exciting city to visit and staying at the well located Hotel Montecarlo was the icing on the... More

this best feature of this hotel is it has very good location. price is also very reasonable. we were surprise with the size of the room. It has huge room for a good located hotel in the heart of Rambla. there are plenty of restaurants and shopping around this area. wifi is also provided at no cost. we had no... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
