The Hotel is on the busy La Rambla Street and very easy to get to from the airport bus drop off point. It has a very classic appearance from the outside which continues to the interior lobby and rooms. The staff are very friendly, all spoke excellent English and were very happy to help you in any way they could.... More

Had the great pleasure of staying at the Hotel Monte Carlo on Las Ramblas, Barcelona Spain, the last week of March 2015. The location on Las Ramblas Boulevard was amazing; you could spend hours exploring the shops, La Boqueria food market, easy walk to the Gothic area, and close to major taxi stands. The hotel staff was one of the... More

For those who don’t know, La Rambla is a broad roadway, with a very busy centre pedestrian walk, running between Plaça de Catalunya and Port Vell. Busy? I figure if you wait long enough you’ll see everyone you know walking down La Rambla. The Montecarlo is right on La Rambla, 300 metres down from the Plaça, the very epicentre of... More

Great location, directly in the heart of the city. Hotel is a revamped old palace, with still some charme visible (high ceilings, generally nice athmosphere). However the rooms are no thrills (basic furniture, no art, simple and straightforward, yet spacious). So not really a "boutique hotel". Anyway, it is a good place to stay, but you probably pay for the... More

Hotel is in the centre of the city, within walking distance of many beautiful buildings and only a short walk from the underground, should you need to travel further. The room was very clean, comfortable and noise free. The staff were, without exception, wonderful. Breakfast was excellent. Complimentary coffee and soft drinks in a very comfortable bar area. The hotel is... More

Picked this hotel based on Trip Advisor reviews and we were not disappointed! This is a great little hotel in the perfect La Rambla location. The staff very very helpful and spoke very good English for us poor travelers! Love the modern sleek rooms. Comfy beds and a great breakfast is available. My only comment is that the large whirlpool... More

We stayed here 5 nights and loved it. We always choose hotels based on location and this was great. We had a balcony and could look up & down la Rambla when out there without the location being too noisy. Friendly, knowledgable staff and comfortable rooms, beds, bathroom.

This hotel in my opinion is a five star. The staff are professional and courteous to a fault. Need anything? Just ask. The room we had in the back of the hotel was quiet and away from the noise of the La Rambla, Excellent bed and a spacious bathroom. Wi Fi is free. The location of this hotel is ideal.... More

Large, clean, quiet room with a Jacuzzi tub right in the heart of activity. Courteous helpful staff. We checked in early and when we returned, our luggage was in the room- now, that's service! They even managed to keep a secret- my daughter and son-in-law had flown in to surprise me. Breakfast was generous and good, especially for the price.

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
