Just returned from 5 nights at this hotel. Arrived around 7 am so booked for the prior night and let the hotel know when I was arriving. Only a few minute walk from the airport bus so quickly arrived and checked in without any problems. I arranged for the small single and yes, it's small! Room is a bit stark... More

We are already planning our return trip to this delightful hotel. We had chosen a balcony room overlooking the street which was doubled glazed and we were not disturbed at all by any street noise. Breakfast was buffet style and at 9 euros per person this really good value, it's served until 1100am which suited us well. overall the location,staff... More

Beautiful hotel with an absolutely lovely staff! So helpful and always with a smile! Great location at La Rambla, yet peace and quiet in the rooms. Clean and spacious rooms, great service and good breakfast. Recommended without hesitation.

Me and my boyfriend have just come back from a long weekend in Barcelona staying at Hotel Montecarlo. The location is great, the staff are very helpful ensuring we knew exactly what bus to get to the airport and were always very friendly. Jacuzzi function in the baths was a treat! We would definitely stay here again when returning to... More

Hotel Montecarlo is conveniently located on Las Ramblas. We were able to walk almost anywhere in the city from this location. The front desk personnel were extremely friendly and attentive. We had a problem with the heat and they were quick to try to rectify or offer another room. Our room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. The bathroom had... More

Prior to our arrival, we already knew that the service would be excellent: The staff was really helpful and kind during the booking process. On the night of our arrival, we received a very nice gesture for my husband's birthday. We loved the room: we had a marvellous view, lots of space and a 5* bathroom. After a lovely night,... More

Best hotel I have stayed in. Amazing friendly service, room cleaned sometimes twice a day and fantastic position for sightseeing and the harbourside. Iron and corkscrew available 5 mins after asking for one. Will be going back like a shot. I would recommend this hit to anyone visiting this beautiful city

My boyfriend and I hit a homerun with this hotel. We found it on deal for about 125 a night and were shocked when we saw it was the 11th rated hotel in all of Barcelona. We quickly booked it. It was obviously the steal of the century because this place was incredibly nice and the staff was top notch.... More

1.Front facing rooms are extremely noisey at night but do have the bonus of a view over Rambla and a Juliet balcony. Discovered not all of these rooms have double glazing. After one noisey night and for the sake of a good nights sleep we were moved to a double glazed room, front facing. 2.Strong sewerage smell when returned to... More

Stayed in a Standard twin room facing La Rambla. Very modern, clean and spacious room with great views of La Rambla from the balcony. I stayed in room 201 and having read reviews of the metro noise I have to say it is audible but did not concern us or effected my sleep. I'm sure its the same with all... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
