After a long transatlantic cruise, we were thrilled to find that Hotel Gaudi staff were generous and gracious with advice on touring the area, how not to be pickpocketed, and where to find fun/good places to eat. They also secured our luggage before our room was ready and after we checked out. The room was a basic room with a... More

Like a number of people, we chose this hotel for its proximity to La Ramblas and the good reviews. The Hotel is extremely central and within easy walking distance of the harbour, metros, buses, tour buses, airport bus (if required). We found it very easy to get around from here on our first visit to Barcelona. Staff friendly. Good choice... More

Myself and my wife stayed here for 5 nights at start of May. Our trip was for the sole purpose of attending the Spanish F1 GP. The WAOH factor is the rooftop terrace ! It is beautiful, and so relaxing after a days trek around the circuit to sit over a beer and take in the 360° views of Barcelona.... More

Our visit was December 2013. I picked this hotel due to the proximity to La Ramblas as we were both first time travellers to this city. Being near to a Gaudi landmark could an advantage - ask the locals of its location and we will get the hotel easily. It was a short walk into the side street from La... More

Hotel Gaudi met all of our Honeymooning needs and more!! Located in La Ramblas, in Barcelona, a hub of tourism. Many tourist attractions, dining and nightlife options well within walking distance of hotel. Upon learning of our honeymoon, the staff immediately upgraded our room to a suite with a balcony, and outfitted our room with comped Champagne when we had... More

My husband and I spent two nights at the hotel Gaudi - April 26 and 27, 2015. It is an older hotel. but has been updated beautifully. The rooms were large and comfortable. The staff was helpful and very pleasant. The hotel is located about 5 shops from Las Rambla and very near the center city and metro. We would... More

Nicely refurbished, and such great value for money, but the most important mention is (as always) the staff. One of the best teams we have come across - warm, friendly, courteous and totally professional. Being remembered too makes it all so very special. Thanks again to everyone, including those in support who are unseen.

Just returned from a long weekend and stayed here for the first time together with four friends. We had a minor problem with one of the rooms which was rectifed without argument . The reception staff were very accomdaitng in handling our complaint and during our dicussions over the complaint I was told 'the customer is always right' . Other... More

Like previous reviewer was attracted to this hotel based on previous reviews & in particular location which in fairness is just 50m off La Ramblas. Easy walking distance in one direction to Pl Catalunya & in the oppsoite to the Port. Not a pleasant location to be returning to after dark. The room was clean & functional but the major... More

I booked this hotel due to the "awesome" location and fairly decent reviews. Wow was I disappointed. Never again will I book a non-refundable hotel that I don't know more about. This place is livable, but thats about it. Every single door opening and closing to other hotel rooms can be heard throughout the floor. Very thin walls, and very... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
