Spent 5 nights in this Hotel with mixed feelings. The place has a historical smell of drains, the smell wafting into many corridors and lounge area. That been said; if you wish to stay in a place that is close to La Ramba Street (main drag) this is the place to stay. we stayed off season (October) and were charged... More

The service is good, the room is not bad average, kind of old fashion but what Iliked the most is the Location. 2 minutes walk to La Rambla. Friendly staff . Quiet hotel. Breakfast is not bad. Price is excellent.

Very good location. A couple of minutes from La Rambla. Very small room, no equipment but the shower worked and it was hot water. Breakfast was OK. Not lots of choises, but plenty of bread, ham, jam, some cerials and tea and coffe. Friendly staff. Check-in / out wasOK. Very budgett.

There's something strange about this hotel. First of all: the location is perfect as its only a two minute walk before you step onto the middle of the Ramblas and that is also just in front of Liceu metro station. The central open space in the former convent, now hotel, is a beauty. Breakfast is far above Mediterranean average. What... More

Very budget hotel! Very small room, no TV, minimal internet connection, toilet ran all night, no shower curtain. The first room they put us in was dirty, very stinky and very spartan. We only stayed one night in order not to lose the deposit. The internet pictures do not look like the real room.

after reading some of the worst reviews fr this hotel on tripadvisor, i prepared myself for the worst. though it wasnt necessary as the hotel is great. very central hotel, easily found. room was very clean, maid came everyday. service is great, lots of helpful brochures at hotel receiption, barcelona map, metro map, discounts at vouchers for excursions... our room... Budget choice in Central Barcelona. The central atrium with hanging baskets looks really nice on the website, and the rooms clean if somewhat spartan. All true, but not the whole story. We booked two rooms, and again (one room) a few days later. The first time we were lucky; our room, on the 3rd floor was okay, and reasonably quiet... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
