It is an old hotel and you will face some problems if that's your mood (see photos). However, if you are interesting for a hotel in a very low budget (~40e with breakfast) then definitely this should be your choice. Located on a allay very close to the "Las Rablas" road and less than 100m from the metro station you... More

Ir has been a while since I stayed here (last October) but I have recommended this place to anyone going to Barcelona. The hotel itself is basic, with basic rooms and basic breakfast but the location is absolutely amazing. It was within walking distance to everything and the room was simple but clean, with a good sized en suite. The... More

Not expensive and very very well located. Clean and tidy, excellent staff, very helpful I would highly recommend to individuals and families needing a place to stay in the middle of town. Great value. The building is also really interesting set round the courtyard inside (formerly a nunnery and monastery) you won't be let down.

I spent 3 nights in this hotel during low season in January. Despite the fact that the hotel was empty we were given a tiny ground floor room in the far corner of the hotel. The room was clean enough but we had no hot water (we complained but the problem persisted), the shower had no shower curtain, and the... More

This is a hotel you book for the location, but it's not really priceworthy if you compare how nice B&B:s you can book for the same price. I liked the building, and the reception staff were very nice (but no security, we asked a night portier we hadn't met before for our key and he just handed it to us... More

Stayed for 2 nights on 2nd floor. The only serious problem was lack of Wi-Fi in the room. Also no window so it was difficult to wake up :) Room clean, hot water, breakfast very good. Staff really helpful and friendly. Excellent location.

reat stuff, room and location! Room was cleaned every day! In the room you will find towels (which changed every day),table, chair, air conditioner, shampoo and soup. If you are looking for something cosy this is the place for you! :) Very great value for money!

It's close to la rambla so good for city tour and shopping. But do not expect more. I'm not quite picky person but breakfast was terrible as I didn't want to eat but tea. It's just worth the budget price.

No hot water, tiny room, bathroom smelled so awful it was unbearable, the only good point I can mention is that it is fairly central and therefore a good base if you just want somewhere to lay your head.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
