Me and my partner spent 3 nights at this hotel, this could not be more central just off La Rambla. Upon arrival we were greeted and our check in was very quick, we arrived before check in time but were given the key to our room and could access straight away, we were not taken to it but were offered... I spent 4 nights at this hotel last week with a party of students. The location (2 mins from Liceu Metro station) was fantastic, and made getting around the city really straightforward. The wifi worked fine in the 1st floor sitting area where we met up every day. Breakfast was included in the price and was a fairly standard continental... More

This is a very central hotel situated just off la rambla and down the side of the Licieu, it's not a high class hotel and neither is it a hostel, it's facilities are basic but clean, the wifi worked on the 1st floor and some of the 2nd, the breakfast simple but included in the price and the rooms have... The only good thing about the hotel is its location. The room is reminiscent of a military barack, spare and ugly. Breakfast choices were terrible with no variety and looking extremely unappetizing, I didn't risk tasting anything. The property is very old. Sound proofing is nonexistent and people were causing a ruckus outside every evening. Internet is spotty at best.... More

We loved this place. It's got old world charm with high ceilings, old tiles and a beautiful courtyard. Wifi good in first floor rooms. Very quiet. the people who worked there were very friendly and helpful.

When we checked in 2 hours after check in time we find out that our rooms ( we booked 3 rooms) are not ready to use, but fortunately later was only better. Our rooms were cleaned everyday. Internet was only in a special area on the second floor. For breakfast was only 1 kind of meat and cheese but was... More

Spent 5 nights in this Hotel with mixed feelings. The place has a historical smell of drains, the smell wafting into many corridors and lounge area. That been said; if you wish to stay in a place that is close to La Ramba Street (main drag) this is the place to stay. we stayed off season (October) and were charged... More

There's something strange about this hotel. First of all: the location is perfect as its only a two minute walk before you step onto the middle of the Ramblas and that is also just in front of Liceu metro station. The central open space in the former convent, now hotel, is a beauty. Breakfast is far above Mediterranean average. What... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
