Great hotel, with private bedroom, good beds and wifi. It is very close to Las Ramblas. In the room we stayed it was always quiet. It has an elevator from the second floor up. Tip: book your stay in their website and you can eat their breakfast for free! If you have to pay, go to other place.

Hotel in the old part of Barcelona, 100 m from Rambla, 400 m from Colombus statue. Metro (Lyceu) at less than 100 m. So a good point to start any visit of the city. It s a rather small hotel, but the rooms offer everything you need. Good bed, bathroom is not so big, but all is very clean. Breakfast... More

el Jardi was the perfect base for exploring Barcelona/Barri Gotic especially. It's a super quick walk away from Las Ramblas and Placa Catalunya, and a high-floor room will give you a nice view out over a nice square. The value for the area was solid. Front desk folks were pleasant and the rooms were clean. As others have said, the... More

This hotel is located close to most of the most touristic and best restaurants in Barcelona. Its located in Barrio Gotico which is loaded by restaurants, shops, pubs, bars and the arquitecture of the area is unique. I totally recommend it for any type of trip (family, friends or couples). Very helpful staff as well. I recommend to take breakfast... More

We carefully studied the various hotels in Barcelona and chose el Jardi based on other reviews and its location. We flew from Portland, OR to AMS, and arrived to Barcelona very weary. We had read about pickpockets, etc, and decided, since we are obvious tourists (and potential targets) to take a cab to our hotel. We were quite surprised when... More

This hotel is situated in a perfect location for tourists, however with tourists comes thieves. Good advice is don't stop to talk to the 'locals'! The hotel itself very basic... and loud... the walls are thin and shutting the windows won't keep out noise (for some reason they clean the city in the middle of the night with loud machines).... The walls are paper thin. And while you may want to go to sleep at midnight the room next to you may decide to party from 2-6am. It literally felt like they were in our room. The beds are also rock hard and the room only fit the bed, nothing else. You can barely turn around in the shower and... More

My wife and I spent three nights here during out trip to Catalunia. The room was tiny, especially the bathroom. But the hotel was ideally located close to everything in Barcelona. Staff was friendly and helpful. Please note that you need to climb a flight of stairs to get to the lobby elevator, which can be a negative if you... More

Stayed here for a pre cruise overnight. The hotel was no more than a ten minute walk from Placa Catalunya so very convenient for the airport bus. The hotel was well situated for exploring the city with the Ramblas and Cathedral near by. The beds were clean but the mattress was quite hard. With booking direct, breakfast was included and... We stayed 3 nights in the hotel in our first visit to Barcelona. It is pretty close to Las Ramblas, which is great and it is close to the metro. We did everything by foot because it was close to many landmarks. We booked from the official website and we received free breakfast (it is 6 euros per person per... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
