The hotel is far from the city centre, so if you read that "Catalonia Rubens Hotel is situated in a peaceful location very convenient for Guell Park and many other famous Barcelona sites are easy to reach from this hotel " it is not an accurate description. Hotel Rubens was good for the money we spent to stay there, but the rooms were not 3 star quality in my opinion. This is one of those hotels that needs a facelift. It's not quite a 2 star and it's not quite a 3 star. It's very out of the way if you want to be in the middle of Barcelona action and the rooms are plain almost dorm like. You can tell by the marble tubs the hotel was once nice... more
