We stayed for 3 nights in July. We arrived early but a room was made available to our specific requirements - ie room at the back of the hotel and able to open the windows. Air conditioning worked well in the room and the wifi also worked well. The hotel is in a good location. The metro is a short... More

Some friends and I stayed here for 3 nights and had a very pleasant experience. The subway is close and very easy to navigate. You can buy 1 ride tickets, 10 ride tickets or one to several day passes. Most major spots have stops and the trains run frequently. Easy way to see the city! We were also able to... More

We arrived earlier than the check in time but our room was ready so we were able to go in early. The room was basic but good, the only things that let it down slightly was that the shower wasn't that powerful (but after a day of walking in the Barcelona heat it still leaves you feeling refreshed!) and that... This hotel has helpful, friendly and approachable reception staff. It is possible to walk to the port (we did it twice) but there are an abundance of taxis to flag down at a good price. A few minutes walk in the opposite direction is the Sagrada Familia where you an hop-on the Bus Turistic, a good way of getting about.

This Hotel is located in the Eixample area of Barcelona, is a couple of blocks away from la Diagonal, and surrounded by bars and small restaurants, not the ones that are a tourist trap, close to two subway stations, la monumental and Sageada Familia. Very helpful staff, clean rooms and most important very quiet rooms...after you walk thru the Ramblas... More

The price was good for Barcelona. This is a no frills hotel and you get what you pay for. The rooms are clean and comfortable although the floors and bins were not always clean. The location is great with plenty of local shops although the supermarket next door is now closed. Sagrada Familia is maybe 10 mins walk. Staff friendly... More

We booked a short break (3 nights) to visit Barcelona only. Hotel is well-placed, near Sagrada familia and tube and local supermarket and a couple of restaurants and cafés. So location is not an issue. But, the day we arrive, we had a problem with the bathroom door (not closing properly/making a lot of noise). Then we had rain one... More

Our stay at Acta Antibes was very comfortable for many reasons. The hotel itself is quite simple and basic, however this is all you really need in Barcelona as we were only there to sleep/shower and was always clean and tidy. Firstly location, Acta Antibes is very close to Sagrada Familia (4 blocks) and is not far from the Gothic... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
