We came to Barcelona as an adventure. We knew nothing, and no one, so we needed a convenient hotel near the action. This hotel is small and cosy. Breakfast each day was brilliant, and one night we ate in their street restaurant. We loved this hotel, especially the helpful and friendly staff.

This hotel offers simple accommodation, but perfect location. It is near the port, in the centre. Not very noisy. Kind staff in the reception. Continental breakfast in cafe next to Mur Mar. I recommend this hotel.

People complaining about this place should first note that its situated on La Rambla, a popular tourist spot. so prices arfe going to be high. Second, its a hostel. They give you what they promise (no room service, no pre equipped kitchen, no amenities of a star hotel etc, though a kettle would have been helpful) We stayed here (group... More

This has to be one of the worst hotels i have EVER stayed in. It was as if I had been dumped off in the 1970's. The rooms we stayed in (11,21,31,32,35) Were all digustingly dirty. One of the rooms "kitchenette" was padlocked shut and my room, 31, I wouldnt have cooked anything in there. In fact i only went... More

OK, Picture this. 9 blokes on a stag do, we were not looking for the Hilton however to be treated like children and accused of damaging their property made our friends stag end on a sour note. The rooms are large but very messy and with no light and hard beds, it felt more like a prison than an apartment.... More

I stayed 3 nights in Murmar for a stag do, the location is right in the centre of Barcelona, rooms are basic but clean. The terrace on the roof had fantastic views and the people working there were helpful and spoke English. Best rooms are the ones on the top floor. Will definitely stay here again.

These apartments were a great choice for our recent group visit to Barceona (October 2012). We were lucky as the weather was wonderful so we could sunbathe on the apartment's balconies and have sundowners parties. I have never been in such a central spot with such great views over the whole of central Barcelona. For us it was perfect accommodation... More

Due to previous comments on other websites regarding this apartment hotel I contacted Mur Mar to make sure they understood that we wanted a clean room, with working aircondition and as quiet as possible. I got a fast reply from them which was good. When we arrived the man in the reception was not very service minded, more rude than... More

To put it in 5 words - that sums it up. Despite self catering, there's no kettle (we had to ask at reception for a saucepan to heat water) or similar in which to even successfully heat anything as the 'cooker', which looked like it had been unearthed from a 70's B movie, didnt heat to over boiling point and... Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
