We stayed in this hotel for a short stay, three nights. We had room 305 at the front on the 3rd floor. The busy road caused a lot of noise day and night. Noise is the keyword for this hotel. Sound insulation and refurbishment would inprove this hotel a lot. We heard the road, the neighbours in the next room... More

nice hotel, well maintained and clean. The big advantage is its location, near the sea, town center and street la Rambla. Rooms bright, but not too quiet, you can hear Trams. Cumbersome also use the wifi, because every time you need to enter your username and password printed on the front desk.

I booked this an Expedia Secret Hotel, so it was a roll of the dice. Great location in the Gothic Quarter, walking distance to waterfront, Barcelona Cathedral, Gothic quarter, Los Rambas, and much more. Staff was very helpful, to a point. My room had a non-function AC/Heat unit, so while it was 65 degrees outside (and very nice) my room... More

Having read some of the reviews of this hotel, I was rather dreading staying here... In fact, it was fine. It's a bit old-fashioned and the lobby smells slightly musty, but it was perfectly OK if not somewhere I'd necessarily choose to stay again. The location is great though. I had a room at the top of the hotel with... More

Room is comfortable, and not too small. Air conditioning worked well. This hotel is very convenient to the old city and harbor. A few blocks from the cathedral and the Picasso museum; back up on Barri Gotic. Staff very helpful and recommended buying La Sagrada tickets online, which saved hours standing in line..

On planning a short break in Barcelona we spent a lot of time looking for and booking a historic hotel in the old part of Barcelona. We arrived late evening (the hotel knew we would be booking in late) only to be told "we have no rooms for you due to technical problems" . We had paid the full amount... More

This was the worst experience of hotels ever. The price was 170 EUR per night, but the quality was way far form the quality (not mentioning four stars which is definitely not). We escaped the next day, hence they wanted to charge minimum three days. Later we learned that the hotel charged full amount but the booking service already charged... More

We stayed for 2 nights here and our room was fairly small. It was on the top floor so the ceiling was sloped (making it seem smaller) but we did have a nice skylight. Location wise the hotel is very good, with a metro stop at the end of road (very handy to get to Port Olimpic, Park Guell and... More

I've been here just for a night. The hotel is really cheap, just 68 euros for a 4 stars hotel it's not bad. The service is ok, the room too. The gadgets in the bathroom are really useful, especially the toothbrush and the toothpaste. The breakfast is not included. A bit noisy because my room was on the street.

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
