We grabbed a three day break in Barcelona just before Easter. The hotel was a pleasant surprise - very helpful staff and the rooms were clean and comfortable- would def stay here again. Dont be put off by the distance out of the centre - thats a plus - either grab a cab(Euros8~10 to the center), or take the Metro... More

Drawbacks: - The location is a bit far fetched; for example, It takes approximately 30-45 minutes to walk from the hotel to Plaza de Catalonia - The noise from the street Urgell. The first night we had a twin room at the second floor with windows out against the noisy street Urgell. However, we were able to change to a... More

We stayed here for 2 nights on a recent holiday. The hotel staff were helpful and efficient. The hotel lobby is warm and cosy. Our room had a balcony and was of a good size. The decor was of good quality and the room and bathroom were very clean. The location of the hotel is approximately 30 minutes walk to... More

With Metro a block away and many of Barcelona's best shops and restaurants within a few blocks, this is a convenient hotel in the heart of Eixample area. The staff spoke English and were very helpful with restaurant tips, etc. Our room (family room for three) was perfect for 3 adults (family with college age daughter) -- in fact it... More

The staff was very nice, friendly and efficient. The rooms were nicely furnished and clean. If you stay in one of the street side rooms, though, it can be noisy. Their lobby and bar are very well furnished and have comfortable places to sit. The only minus that we had was that we were told that the breakfast came with... More

Just came back from 3 nights at the U232 and agree with the majority of views but got caught out when when we booked a family room for myself, my wife and our daughter. Basically, the room we were in (809) had an ajoining door to another room to accommodate a larger family via 2 connected rooms; problem was that... More

Our 12-day Spanish vaction started in Barcelona with U232 as our base for 4 nights. We opted for a room on the top level and got Room 909. We highly recommend it. The spacious and luxurious room comes with a sprawling bed, divan, roomy terrece, flat screen TV and assorted material comforts that will prove to be very much welcome... More

Recommended by British Airways holidays and Trip Advisor, we chose this hotel on good authority and came away more than satisfied. A nice location close to a Metro station with a view out onto a lovely park from the breakfast bar, and a very large room with all the facilities you could want, it's difficult not to be pleased by... The hotel was a great value. It was well located, a few minutes walk to the diagonal. The hotel rooms were clean, not too small, beds were comfortable, nice bathroom. The hotel was lobby was modern in design. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The staff added to the entire great experience we had staying at the hotel. Parking... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
