My friend & myself spent 3 nights at this hotel for her 60th birthday. It was in a great location, just off Las Rambles but very quiet. Our room was very clean but we did find it quite dark which did become a problem when getting ready to go out. The lack of mirrors was an issue as we only... More

Stayed here for four nights with my husband and two daughters (23y & 20y). Ideal situation for exploring the streets around. Rooms small but well appointed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely consider staying here again.

We stayed here for four nights in January and enjoyed it very much. This hotel is recommended by Rick Steves and we quite agree with him. We flew into Barcelona and the direct bus from the airport takes you to the Placa de Catalunya, less than a five minute walk to the hotel. The hotel is on a pedestrian only... More

Before I reserved a room at the Nouvel Hotel, I had read both the pro and con reviews posted here, and I thought I had a pretty good idea of what I was getting. When I came in from El Prat Airport very early in the morning after a 9-hour flight, I was typically disoriented and tired. Fortunately, the Aerobus... More

We were assured to get a double room, but were non the less stuck with a twin. No effort was done to compensate for the disappointment. Very noisy, don't go if you like a good night sleep. Service is poor and the facilities are basic. This hotel looks a lot better than it is.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night on our honeymoon after taking a Cruise. The location is perfect for first time visitors to Barcelona, the hop on tour buses are just around the corner. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even before we took our trip I had emailed the hotel with a list of questions and... More

Perfect location, lovely room. Such good value for money. Staff were helpful. Highly recommend this place if you want somewhere to stay that's walking distance to most things. Very quirky and beautiful hotel tucked away down a side street.

Stayed here for 2 nights with a group of 10 friends. The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the centre of where all the bars, restaurants and shops are and it was easy to get to from the airport. We checked in and were told our rooms were on the 4th floor. I was in room 488. It... More

Fantastic Hotel right in the heart of Barcelona, just of the famous Rambla street, perfect for shopping , sightseeing & all the lovely restaurants ...The hotel was very welcoming, the room was clean & beautifully decorated , my only complaint would be that the room was far too hot, but it would not stop me from staying there again....overall EXCELLENT... Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
