The one and only good about this hotel was the location ! Besides that everything was terrible. Unfriendly stuff unwilling to make your staying easier and better. Rooms are amazingly tight and small , if you have problems with small spaces don't try it. Breakfast too poor.

This is very much a budget hotel. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the beach and good restaurants and a short distance from shops and sights. On the negative side the twin rooms are extremely cramped and the hotel is tired and in need of updating. The staff were not very friendly either. A bargain for a short... More

Please skip this hotel from your list. The rooms are smaller then the bathroom at home. The bathroom is very unhealthy. The breakfast is poor. No ham or cheese. There is also much noice in the room from other rooms.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for a budget stay "in the middle of everything" in Barcelona: having spent holidays at several hotels in this city I can say that the Santa Marta location beats them all. You can easily walk to the beach and the most popular nightlife area, the trendy port district, El Born with many charming inexpensive... More

The hotel was excellent. Room service the most efficient we have experienced anywhere. Beautiful room on the higher floor with great views over the city, if your considering it,just book it you won't be disappointed. Loved our stay, will book again without doubt.Locacion it's so good, because it's in the center ofthe city. Near by where are the bicycle rent... More

I give it a good score not because it's luxurious but it's next to everything and it has all you need; a bed and a bathroom. My boyfriend and I walk around all days so we basically just sleep in the room and for that this hotel is perfect. The reason i think it gets poor reviews is cause people... More

Our room was cleaned each day and the sheets and towels were also changed... More

Everything REALLY dirty, bad smelling, basically really disgusting. Tried to obtain refund as one of our party suffers form a medical problem and was unable to stay in such inhumane conditons but the Gargallo Group customer service stinks as much as their rooms. Don't stay here, it'll ruin your stay and cost you money. There are many other nice cheap... More

5 of us stayed for 3 nights in mid March for the game against Barcelona in champions league, the rooms are tiny to say the least but they were clean (ish) bathrooms tiny and our room had the previous occupants hair still in there. Shower had plenty of hot water and all we wanted was somewhere to sleep and get... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
