I awoke on my second morning at the Santa Marta Hotel itching all over my arms and torso. Soon afterward, I had red welts popping up everywhere. The man working the front desk played dumb, insisting that I had mosquito bites, was unhelpful and rude. He refused a refund, and I heard him insisting on the phone to his superiors... more

well, yes it is a two star place, so no shocks there. The first receptionist spoke good English and was very helpful, showed us a good pizza place close by. Our room was on 6th floor which was nice, it was quiet but on two occations the elevator didn't work so it was quite challenging to drag my spouse with... more

Booking the Hotel Santa Marta was a caluculated risk. Next door to a large station, 50 metres from a main thoroughfare, reviewed as basic, clean accommodation we had no illusions. The welcome and assistance from hotel staff was excellent. The rooms are very small but clean - and yes, it does have the air of a place that has seen... more

Me and a mate stayed here for a long weekend. Now we only used it to get our heads down for a few hours and have a shower so wasn't that bothered about the size. Just thought I would warn people who like their hotel to be a bit bigger. On arrival we opened the room door to find a... more

We were in this hotel for 3 nights. The rooms are very tired, dirty and basic. We have a problems to got to the rooms, because in hotel is only one elevator, so we wait on elevator sometimes about 10 minutes. The breakfasts were very bad and the room, where we ate was smoking, dirty. The best on the hotel... more

We had originally booked the Hotel Oasis for 8 people but on arrival were sent round the corner to Santa Marta supposedly because the rooms were wirthout electricity etc. The word dump came to mind as we were thrown the keys to our rooms by someone who definately had not graduated from charm school and watched a drunk being manhandled... more

Having been to Barcelona before and stayed in a plush hotel, my friend and I decided to return on a very tight budget. We were expecting the worst, given that it only cost us £26 per night. However we were pleasantly surprised. On arrival in the room (3rd floor), it was tiny, nowhere to store suitcases etc and the bed... more

We stayed there two nights, excellent location, the hotel right next to both train station and metro, 10 mins walks to las rambla, room is clean and good size. The only thing I would complaint is the air condition, it was switching on and off every 5 mins, very noisy when we sleep and not cool when you awake, that's... more
