We stayed in his hotel for 3 nights. It is terrific value and well located close to La Rambla and the Metro. Our twin room was on the second floor at the back and there were no noise issues from other rooms. The only thing missing was a TV which was not important to us. The air conditioning was great.... Pros: The location was perfect! It is literally a minute walk to the Metro station on La Rambla, the busiest main tourist street in Barcelona, which is filled with restaurants. There are breakfast spots nearby and even a Dunkin Donuts. The staff was friendly enough, very business-like but they spoke English. The wifi was fast, and the A/C was lovely!... More

3 Days in Barcelona in the middle of June. There is nothing fancy about this hotel, but as the title says its pretty cheap and very clean. Basic room with no TV and a modern bathroom. Free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Perfect location in the middle of Las Ramblas. Was great for us as we were boarding a cruise and... More

The location of Operaramblas is very good if you want to be in the middle of the action. It is half a block away from Las Ramblas and the Liceu metro stop. The room had good air conditioning! The beds were comfortable, everything was clean and the service was good. They also have convenient storage lockers and good wifi. We... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and felt it was a great value. The rooms were clean, the lobby was spacious, Wi-Fi worked, A/C worked - all our needs were met. I didn't find the staff to be overly helpful, but we had no issues. The location is literally a half block from the Liceu subway stop, just off las... More

We were booked at a different hotel nearby, but they got our booking mixed up, so we ended up in this hostal. We were very glad for that mistake so we had this nice hostal in best location at a very resonable price. Wifi for free in all rooms. If you are looking for a place only for sleeping: that's... We ran into several issues for our luggage in Barcelona. The hotel front desk staff was so helpful, it is beyond one can imagine or expect. We had already checked out at that point and they had no obligation to help us but they went above and beyond. I have stayed in 5 star hotels to Hostels in my life,... More

The location is fantastic, near everywhere ,very touristic though (i think i would try the gracia neighbourhood next time). The rooms are very simple but clean and there was a small balkony as well. What i din't like was the noise from the streets during the night and the noise from next rooms, when someone wanted to enter his room i... More

You simply cannot beat this place for the price. Down the street less than 100 feet is a highly rated hotel with a fancy lobby and fancy bar and restaurant at 3x the price of Hostal Operaramblas. We stayed here twice in November 2013 and it was fantastic. Less than 200 feet from Ramblas, right next to the Liceu Opera... More

Just off the Ramblas, next to Liceu metrostation, this hotel is perfectly located for a city trip. It is very basic in facilities, but good enough for a city trip when you are outside most of the time.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
