This hotel is right around the corner from Las Ramblas and despite the chaos when you step outside, it was very quiet inside. The room was clean, beds and pillows were comfortable, and had a nice little balcony facing the side street. The lobby was small but smelled very nice all the time! Breakfast was good and varied and the... More

We stayed at the Inglaterra Hotel in central Barcelona from 11th June 2015 for five nights. The rooms were comfortable but I wouldn't say luxurious. Room had a little balcony overlooking the city & a view of La Sagrada Famila. Five minutes walk from the La Ramblas and a Metro station right across the road. Plenty of little cobbled streets... The location was excellent, rooms were satisfactory, clean and had comfortable beds. The staff was helpful. We could walk almost everywhere. Taxis were handy and for a family of four they were cheaper than taking the metro. Staff made a special effort to keep families on the same floor, since we were a group of 16. Breakfast was okay but... More

My Mother and I initially chose Hotel Inglaterra because of its location. We knew La Rambla was the was the centre of activity in Barcelona, and the hotel was a short walk away whilst still being away from the crowds. It is also very close to the Universitat metro station which gets you to all the main locations within a... More

The hotel was in a great location for Las Ramblas and access to the rest of Barcelona. The staff were friendly and helpful. The area was quiet. The room was of a good standard and was clean with a nice bathroom.

We stayed 3 days in Barcelona and enjoyed out stay at the Hotel Inglaterra. It's close to many attractions, the staff is friendly and it's not noisy at night. The hotel is located next to a metro station, less than one minute walk. The busses to the airport are located also near, 10 minutes walk.

Excellent location, comfortable room and clean, good breakfast. The people at front desk were just ok, they did not go out of their way to provide direction or make suggestions. Room close to plaza cataluna and las ramblas. Took tour bus package from hotel when we madd reservations, glad we did!

Welcoming staff who were ready to assist with every question. Easy access from airport Aeroporto bus just outside terminals. Buy tickets with Euros from driver or machine with credit card. Get off at Plaza Cataluna. Walk across plaza to left side of FNBC department store and that is their street. One and a half blocks from main strolling street of... More

Recommended by a popular US (RS) travel book series, and well-deserved. Rooms and beds were clean and comfortable. Front desk staff was friendly and very helpful. Their recommendations for dinners were spot-on. Good value. 2 blocks from LA Ramblas. 100m from university metro stop, and bus stop from airport. I will recommend to friends.

I stayed here for one night before a 10pm flight. I had a room on third floor and didn't feel it was noisy at all. I found the bed quite hard though. The rooftop terrace and pool was a great place for relaxing. Although small with the pool more like a cold jaccuzi it was the perfect place to while... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
