This hotel is in a great location for exploring Barcelona city centre and the beachfront. It is only a few minutes away from both the marina and Las Ramblas. Parallel metro station is a few steps from the hotel door so it's an easy commute to the airport. The hotel is very clean and functional and the staff are very... More

My wife and I stayed in the Tryp Apolo Hotel, Barcelona this past weekend. It was a terrible experience. Firstly we could not check in until well after 3pm. There was no complimentary room to change our clothes to go sightseeing in the city. We had to change in the Gents and Ladies toilets. We left our luggage at the... More

We stayed here at the end of a cruise and i would like to say we chose it but the reality was it was grand prix weekend and there was very little available in Barcelona. Having said that I was delighted we ended up here. The hotel is very close to the cruise terminal. Not walking distance but about 5... More

We chose this hotel for our honeymoon and my 40th birthday, the location was ideal, 5mins walk to la ramblas and the bus stops. Just hoped the hotel could have upgraded us or given me a bottle of fizz for my birthday (I did tell them when we checked in)

Spent a great couple of days at the Tryp whilst visiting Barcelona. The reception guys Ryan and Raul were exceptionally helpful when I was pickpocketed and had to report cards etc stolen - above and beyond what I would have expected. They also gave great recommendations on places to eat locally. Hotel itself is a good standard with very good... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
