It is well located close to La Rambla and the port. We were able to walk over to the City Sightseeing bus stop. The biggest down fall was the open block across Carrer de Cabanes (across the road) through all hours of the night young people from the skate park further up come and make noise; with the high buildings... Stayed for just one night as was reviewing a number of hotels....good location and very busy area with short walk to La Rambles if that is why you are looking for. Hotel is having some refurbishing done and the rooms or at least ours needed it. Nothing bad at all but just a bit tired....Having checked in we were allocated... More

The Tryp Apolo is brilliantly located for both Las Ramblas and the Marina, 10 minutes walk from both. The hotel itself is a little dated inside but cheap enough, clean and rooms and facilities were good enough. The one let down was that the gym was off site, about a 10 minute walk away.

We used this hotel with our group in mid-June 2015. The location was excellent and the efficiency of the hotel was admirable. The breakfasts were ample and well-prepared as were the dinners. The staff was exceptionally kind and accommodating. The rooms are clean, spacious and safe.

We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is well situated. Only the lobby and the breakfast area are renovated. The Internet was extremely slow so WIFI is useless. No pc's available / no Bizz center which complicates things if you quickly have to use Internet. Breakfast is good I saw that you can purchase (if not included) for 10 euro.

At the beginning of July my husband and I stayed at the Tryp Apolo. It is well located and minutes from bus lines , shopping and walking areas. The staff were friendly and accomodating. The hotel is being renovated but the noise and mess were kepy to a minimum. The breakfast in the morning was well done and a great... More

This hotel is clean if a little tired , it is clean but needs updating. Went to check in to find that they did not have our reservation, I showed them the receipt but got the impression they did not believe me.I asked them to search again when lo and behold they found it , (not their fault like it... Have just had a visit to this hotel. Great room, good location for getting around Barcelona. Staff were so helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were very good value especially if you book at the hotel reception. The only criticism was that at night it was very noisy outside. Ear plugs are needed if your room is on the front of the... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighborhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colorful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
