we booked well in advance, having read the trip advisor reviews and we paid a bit extra for a superior room.... it was well worth it - we got a corner room with two balconies on the third floor. Views were of the local streets rather than the roof tops but the great thing was there was next to no... More

If you want a place in Barcelona from where you can walk to almost all the important landmarks, this is the place you should stay at. If you want a location where you want the quiet for a good sleep and vibrancy when step out, this is the place. We were lucky to get a room on the 6th floor... More

The hotel is at the best location, just a stone throw to the Rambla street, metro and the historical old town. Nevertheless, the hotel is located in a side street, very quiet, you don't hear any noise from the street. The only you can complain is the rooms are not very sound-proof, you can hear people talking (when they are... More

We stayed 4 nights, and everything was fine. There is free Wi-Fi, we were on the 3rd floor and it worked fine. There is free coffee/tea down in the lobby, next to a snack bar, available 24 hours. Across the street is a small market, but 5 minutes, and 2 blocks over on Las Ramblas, there is a Carrefour market,... More

Two good nights sleep and a lot of sight seeing in Barcelona behind us. The hotel is clean, good air conditioning, rooms not too large but very good for a ahort stay. Friendly service, good breakfast but at a fairly high price. The hotel is in a walking zone, better not to come driving. Taxi service works fine!

With no air conditioning and we were above a bar where the cigarette smoke would come in through the open window. That was just on Saturday night. Sunday night was fine. We totally enjoyed our visit in Barcelona.

Hotel located just off Rambla, very close to all the shopping and the old quarters with restaurants and tapas bars. Just spectacular location for city exploration. Beware that the hotel is located within "no driving" zone, so your taxi may not want to drop you at the hotel door. Though, when I was leaving, the hotel staff were able to... More

We enjoyed our stay in this property very much. The rooms were clean and quite comfortable and the location can't be beat. We were within walking distance of the waterfront, the Plaza Catalunya, las Ramblas, the Cathedral, and many great eateries.

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
