We loved our three night stay here. The hotel is ideally located for sightseeing with the metro immediately outside and La Rambla a short walk away. Our room was beautiful; impeccably clean and with an incredible view of the city. The highlight of the Barcelona Universal is undoubtedly its staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful and more than... More

We just came off of a Viking Cruise... pampered beyond belief. We walked into our Superior Double room on the 9th floor, and felt we had not left the ship!! The room was beautiful, impeccably maintained and very private. Our terrace overlooked the old section of the city with farther views of downtown. The hotel is in a perfect location... More

Organised this for my son's 17th birthday, had tickets for the Barca v Ath Madrid game on our day of arrival then some sightseeing for a few days. Booked the BUH based on reviews from trip adviser, and the place didn't disappoint, clean, modern rooms, beds made and room cleaned every day, plus the staff were approachable which always helps.... Located very close to la ramblas, beach, montjuic all within walking distance. Plaza espanya and calunya both within 20mins walk. Metro station right outside! Hotel was clean staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Request a high floor 7 or above as you get a good view of the city. No tea/ coffee making facilities but you can request one (if available)

Brilliant rooms, very comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly. Excellent location both for walking to the port/La Rambla and right next to the Para-lel metro station so you could access all of the city from your front door.

Good location (close to Rambla and sea), great beds, big bathroom (but no functioning heater). Breakfast buffet with a good variety of food but not heating plates, so you may end up eating cold eggs. Cleaning of the tisch sets very average. Good service at the reception. Was missing the hot water /tea/Coffee facility in the room but not existing.

Me and my friend stayed at this hotel for a short city break. The hotel is in a great location, 5-10 minute walk from the old town where all the shops and restaurants are. The check in was very convenient, the receptionist gave a little map and advised us where is best to visit etc. The room itself was very... More

Didn't know what to expect when we got to Barcelona but it was a fantastic stay. When we got to the hotel the staff was so accommodating. They have a computer available for use and they print all your tickets needed. The room was large and the bathroom was a good size. The room service was fantastic. Breakfast was a... More

We got this as a mystery room on Last Minute, so weren't completely sure what to expect. We weren't in the least bit disappointed. The room was immaculate, the bed was vast and the shower hot and powerful! We mainly used this as a base as we were out all day, so it didn't matter that our window looked out... More

When arriving at the hotel I realised I'd had mine and my partners passport and money stolen on the metro. I immediately broke down at reception as I didn't know what to do. The gentleman on reception was really attentive. He got me a large bottle of water to help me calm down and kept us relaxed. Whilst I was... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
