The most perfect location in Barcelona. Walking distance to almost everything. An old hotel that might have seen better days but nothing can beat it's location. You will find all kinds of restaurants and shops just outside the hotel entrance

I requested a quiet upper floor single room when booking through "booking.com" and was given a noisy second floor room which looked out at two large filthy water tanks. Next door, from a room marked "office" a loud humming noise was audible all through the night. The sound of dancing feet accompanied by bagpipes could be heard through the walls... More

In fact ,there are two groups of rooms - standard (more or less three star) and terrace 4 star rooms at 8th and 9th floors - excellent choice for central Barcelona ! You have impressive views over city center (incl .seaviews ) ,the opportunity to sunbathe ,and a really silent nights (courtyard side ). Hotel ameninites and breakfast are typical... More

We stayed there with our daugher (3y) in spring 2013, and had a large room with two double beds, nice and clean, but with only one window that had viewed into an wall ;o) This is a budget hotel, no doubt about that, but I think it is good value for Money. Location is perfect for sightseeing, breakfast buffet was... More

Nice breakfast, OK single room, but no window. Or window out to walls, 1 m away. Clean and OK. Value for money. Exceptionally nice staff in the reception. If you do not spend much time on your room, but want a clean room, OK breakfast, luggage storage before and after check out, and nice English- and German-speaking staff, this is... More

This was a great location and very reasonable price. It was not a fancy hotel but we were not willing to pay for a lot of luxuries. The hotel people were extra nice. I stay in a lot of hotels and think this front desk was one of the best. It has a fun bar in the lobby and a... More

Very central !!!! You can walk everywhere! Plus we made a mistake with our reservation and Monica (the reservation manager) fixed it for us with no complications and a smile on her face. Thinks like that make your trip much more relaxed.. Thanks Monica. Angelita

Stayed here for a business conference (Mobile World Congress), which like every hotel in Barcelona during the conference raised its rate by a factor of 4x-6x over normal (capitalism at work). Hotel is 'ok', but, *dated*. It's clean but in need of updating as everything is old (tired, used). Had to pay 2 Euros per day for use of in-room... More

Like the object of the Punch 1895 cartoon (see Wikipedia), this hotel has both good and bad bits. The good includes: Location - outstanding, close to the waterfront Christopher Columbus statue, in the middle of the tourist area of the old town and close to two Metro stations; Bedrooms - mine (Room 601) anyway, with a large balcony area with... Staying in La Rambla

Neighborhood Profile
La Rambla
Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-meter boulevard, and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll past impressive human statues and artists while others take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic Boqueria Market that offers one of the most varied and appetizing selections of local produce and specialty meats and treats. While it’s important for tourists to keep an eye on their belongings at all times, this area is most safely explored in the daytime and is a must see for everyone who visits.
