I stayed there with group of 8 friends, so we had the whole apartment to ourselves. The place is very tasteful, clean and has all the practical facilities you might need during your stay. Roberto who was our point of contact is beyond helpful and very friendly. The list they have prepared for restaurant suggestions and city visits is more... More

Its amazing to come back, and find that the place still have a very high standard. And El Balcon do have, as a B and B, a very high standard. And the people who runs it are just amazing. A very big thanks to Anna, Roberto and Pablo for being so friendly and service minded. A lot can learn from... More

We had a lovely 5 night stay in El Balcon del Born. It is a lovely old apartment with many original features. We had a room with a balcony which was nice to sit out on in the afternoon and early evening. The breakfast is good and the hosts friendly and very helpful. The location is great for getting around... More

My husband and I stayed at El Balcon del Born in September. The location was close to many of our favorite things. We loved walking around this section of town and were very close to the Picasso Museum and the beach. Pablo was a fabulous host. He was very helpful in providing recommendations for dining and so sweet. Breakfast was... More

The most charming B&B I've ever stayed in with exceptional customer service. The location is wonderful and the owners are the most delightful people who welcomed us as if we were family. We arrived late and were greeted by Roberto, who was very warm and welcoming. The next morning, Anna addressed each of us (my husband, my son, and myself)... More

Although I had tried to book on line before our visit, I left home before the reply came to say that Roberto was fully booked. Whilst sampling much needed beers and tapas and thanks to some very friendly locals, we found ourselves sitting right opposite the El Balcon del Born (there were no signs at the entrance) Fortunately Roberto had... We loved this place! From the minute we booked this hotel we received the best customer service and constant communication. Roberto is amazing and once we got to the B&B he took the time to map out all of the sights, restaurants and bars to visit. This is so helpful especially when you get to a city like Barcelona and... Ideal, Very nice area. Walking distance to major sightseeing and close to station which we needed to travel out for a day visiting our daughter. Relaxed, quirky, Home from home. Very nice and ample breakfast. Loved our room and the shower was great.

We had a great time in Barcelona! We booked the trip spontaneously and found through the good recessions in the Internet and on Trip Advisor this cute bed & breakfast "El Balcon del Born". When we arrived there we had a very warm welcome from Roberto. He explained us the city and made a plan for us with our interests... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
