The hotel was in a good location with many bars around. As it is a little way out of the centre the food prices were much better. We stayed in a superior room on the fifth floor. There was no noise at all. The room was clean and a good size. The mini bar had free soft drinks but was... More

A very good hotel, in an excellent location for visiting Barcelona (most tourist spots are within easy walking distance). What lifted this hotel to another level was the attentiveness of all of the staff. Nothing was a problem to any of them. If our family visits Barcelona again (and we probably will), we know where we'll be staying

Pedro in reception was fantastic. The reception area itself was very nice. The rooftop pool was great too. The rooms let the hotel down. They're a lot smaller than they seem. The SLAMMING of every room's fire door was waking us up any time of the day. Especially when the cleaners were in and out. The air con smelled damp... More

Stayed at the America Hotel two nights, 19/20 July 15 and cannot speak highly enough of the staff. We arrived late at night due to upsetting circumstances and the staff were brilliant, so in my view, any business is only as good as their front reception. Our facilities were air conditioned, very clean, a comfortable bed and the best hot... More

This hotel is perfect if you don't plan on spending much time in it - but if that's the case I'd really recommend finding somewhere cheaper. The room itself was pretty basic. Three of us were stuffed into what was definitely a two person room, meaning there wasn't much space - what space we did have wasn't disimilar to a... More

Hotel America is in a great position, close to bars and restaurants but away from the crowds. The bus stop for the open top bus tour (red & blue route)is two blocks away, las Ramblas about twenty mins walk and the beach another twenty mins more. Taxi rank outside hotel, €29 to airport (15 mins) & €10 to the beach.... More

Hotel decor cheap. Fake marble tiles and cheap material used in rooms. For the price not very pleased with what we got. Had nicer rooms in spain for much less price. Pool facade fake and plastic and peeling back. Would not recommend. Location is good but would never go back

The hotel rooms are small and basic. Small beds but it did have a fridge. The rooftop pool with bar was very nice. Staff was helpful and friendly. It is a little out of the way but cabs are easy to hail and fairly cheap. We took a hop on/off bus tour, was very convenient. Would stay here again.

Rooms could do with a bit of a tidy, and the walls are very thin not soundproofed. If you would like a quieter room ask for one at the back. Roof terrace is lovely especially when we were in mid 30's temperature, pool very small but great to cool off. Good choice for breakfast, my husband has a gluten intolerance... More

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. It's a small hotel in a modern style. The staff will do anything to make your stay comfortable. Breakfast is very good and we very much enjoyed the roof terrace with swimming pool and hot tub after a warm summer's day exploring the city. Location is very good. We definitely recommend to stay... Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
