Modern enough hotel, with free wi fi. The rooms or at least the one we stayed in was a weird triangled shape. clean enough but unfortunately the air con was not working. we were told on arrival that the air con would be fixed within a day or so but when we left 4 days later it was still not... more

We stayed at Hotel Amercia for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The best bit is the roof terrace, with pool to cool down in after a long day sight seeing. There was usually a member of staff up there to provide towels, food and drink. It was lovely to drink champagne on the terrace early evening as the lights... more

Nice hotel. Pretty good location near the upper end of La Rambla. Very helpful staff. Free internet access. Password changes daily but the desk is very accomodating. Good breakfast. Many non-Spanish guests. Nice rooms. more

Liked: clean good breakfast free wireless location disliked: very noisy room, could not sleep due to elevator noise very thin walls, could hear the neighbors in their bath as if they were in my room couldn't open the window because every passer by could see the room from the corridor more

The plus points: Nice, if small, roof terrace pool and jacuzzi Clean room, perfectly adequately sized (why do you need a huge room if you're going to be out and about on a city break?) The downside: Cheekily billed me in pounds not euros when I asked specifically for pounds. You get a much worse exchange rate when they do... more

The hotel was booked because of its proximity to my work location, but it is quite convenient to some lovely shopping. It provides room service for a light dinner and breakfast buffet. The rooms are clean and modern and the staff is helpful. Upon arrival the television did not work for a few days and initially the hairdryer in the... more

Nice hotel with modern rooms on walking distance from Placa de Catalunya and Ramblas. Roof terrace with swimming pool and louge-chairs. We paid 100 EURO per night in the weekend, which is a bargain....... more

I stayed at the America for 5 days on a business trip. I booked a superior room with wifi included; unfortunately, the wifi wasn't working when I arrived. But they had it working the next day and for the rest of the stay, and offered to knock of the cost of breakfast for two days to make up for it.... more

Just returned from a 4nt stay at the Hotel America and having previously stayed off the Ramblas area I must say this was a far better experience of Barcelona. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were cleaned everyday to the same excellent standard. Initially we were on the 6th Floor just below the rooftop terrace and the room... more
