I stayed in the hotel for a couple of days in March. The location was ideal for my visit purpose. The room was lovely, clean and had everything I needed it an amazing view of the fountains outside. What I found to be really disappointing was the food. I paid extra for the breakfast which I found to be very... More

We stayed here for six days and the location is very good if you want to explore Barcelona by foot. First off, friendly staff and clean rooms. The rooms are very outdated and needs improvement, beds are very very hard and not good to sleep in. We booked this hotel based on location and that they had a pool. It... More

This is an older hotel in desperate need of refurbishing. The lighting in my room was not good. It was dim and I felt like I was in a cheap motel. I do not sleep with my windows open for safety reasons but this room was so hot it was uncomfortable. I had no choice but to leave my window... More

Stayed at the hotel in February, 2015. The hotel is perfectly located in the center of Barcelona at Plaça Cataluña. The rooms are quite spacious and clean. I stayed for six nights and I only took B&B. Breakfast was great with a wide variety of food and fresh juice. The staff were also extremely friendly and hospitable and the receptionist... More

The hotel is located in the centre of Barcelona. You can't get any closer to the guts of the city. The location is the best here, you're within walking distance to "las ramblas", the old gothic quartier, the famous passeig the gracia street with all the expensive stores, etc. The facilities are ok, well renovated for an old building The... To be fair, we didn't spend a night here. In fact we were checked in for about 5 hours. We had returned from a 7 day cruise with a lot of baggage and awaited our evening flight home. We wanted a bag drop and a base for a few hours. I was 'owed' a room from hotels.com and decided to... More

We did an in depth research of hotels in this city. This hotel has a brilliant situation being closes to Placa Catalunya, the Ramblas, airport buses and the Metro. The rooms are modern and well appointed. We booked a room with a terrace which had a sunny aspect and was quiet at night. I ate in the Contempo restaurant which... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
