Superb location just off the placa de catalunya which if you know Barcelona is at the top end of La Rambla which is 10 mins from the harbour and beach. Hotel was very clean. Quote "This fabulously restored building dates back to the year 1899, designed by the famous architect Emilio Salas y Cortés (master of Gaudí). The inside courtyard... More

Just returned from a few days here. It is in an excellent location, right in the heart of things. The hotel was good, reception staff were good, and liked having the faciltiy of a laptop and printer to use. It helped with printing tickets for venues. Breakfast was ok, though there was no bacon both days and I had eaten... More

Not recommended. Hotel is located in the center and it clean. the employees are nice. Our first good impression was ruined when we received the room. The window is facing a inside shaft of the building. never opened it, really depressing. The 2 beds were separated without the ability to join them together. No way to lock the safe. needed... More

We stayed here from 8/17-8/19. Being unfamiliar with Barcelona, I chose this hotel because of its location and overall look of it. I was happy with my decision. It's just a few steps from Plaza Catalunya, La Rambla, and metro stops. It's just a few blocks away from Passeig de Gracia as well. It's perfectly located between all of the... More

the hotel has a nice location, night life places and all shops are around, but the city is full of thieves :( so you have to be aware and taking care of your bags all the time. weather in summer is very hot and high humidity.

I have nothing but good things to say about my stay at this hotel. The staff were outstanding, helpful with our luggage as well as directions and suggestions. The location is perfect for touring with hop-on-off buses a stones throw away. The place, although old, was meticulously kept and the beds were extremely comfortable. I will be in Barcelona next... This hotel has a great location. Only half a block to Plaza Cataluna were there are Hop on Hop off buses and also the local buses. Las Ramblas also right around the corner. There are many shops and restaurants close by. We stayed on the 6th floor our room had a nice terrace and was very quiet. The all marble bathroom... More

Most of the metro and bus lines are accessible from the Cataluna Square, so the best starting point for exploring the town. The staff is really friendly and helpful everywhere in the hotel. The breakfast is excellent, but could be included in the price of the room. As the basements where breakfast is located is under work, it's tricky to... More

The hotel was everything we expected. Great location, lovely spacious clean rooms. There is a lovely outdoor pool with tables and chairs where you can relax in the sunshine or inside there is an small bar area with air conditioning. I would recommend eating in the hotel, guests can receive 10% discount from their set menu - the food was... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
