Stayed here twice now for work. Rooms at the back of the hotel are quieter. Rooms always clean and good rate for the location. Many good restaurants a very short distance away. Had breakfast in the cafe next door so can't comment on food here. Reception staff not overly friendly but didn't bother me really.

Overall, I would rate this very centrally-located hotel a very good value for the price I paid. The bed could have been a bit more comfortable, but overall, it was a very good stay. Internet access was very important for me and I had no problems with Wi-Fi access in my room. I would recommend this hotel as a great... More

My daughter and I spent one night in the Balmes hotel Barcelona and we found the hotel to be very clean, rooms very comfortable and the staff extremely friendly. The hotel is a short walk to the very popular La Rambla area where you can find lots of restaurants and bars.

We were very impressed with our spacious (apartment) room which was easily accessible, clean and well maintained. The updated 5 piece-bathroom had a large tub and separate shower. We were able to make great use of the kitchen daily. There was a large closet with ample room for additional storage. The breakfast provided had great variety and was delicious. The... More

Great location and staff! Nice size room and amenities. Better if the pillows were down or down like. Good breakfast. Rooms toward the back are quiet with nice view of patio. Nice welcome bottle of wine with MWC stay. A bit pricey that week but good value given the location.

nice economy hotel. Clean and with very good staff. No english channels on TV but that was not an issue for me as I dont watch much TV. Roughly about half a mile from the rambles area which was a nice walk both ways. No hassle or bother in the area that we seen. I would stay there again, breakfast... More

Stayed here for 2 nights in one of the rooms in the garden area. This is my 3rd visit to Barcelona, but first time in this hotel. The room was huge, I had a separate lounge and bedroom. It was a nice room, the only thing letting it down was the damp in the bathroom, which made it smell. Other... More

Location is perfect, very nearly to the patio de Gracia and not so far from the old town. Public transportation is too close to the hotel in addition many restaurants nearby allowing a culinary diversification.

Giving Excellent rating because the single room I stayed in was tucked away, sort of in the basement with the window opening to the garden in the back. Was very surprised how quiet it was, almost did not hear neighbor rooms either. Also it is in a very good location, La Padrera & Casa Batllo are walkable and the metro... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
