My friend and I stayed here on an independent visit to Barcelona after a two week bus tour of Spain, Morocco and Portugal. Firstly POSITION. Both only minutes away, at one end of C. Pelai is Universitat Metro station, and at the other is Pl. Catalunya, (hence easy access to the Metro and the direct Aerobus to and from the... More

One of the few places we stayed in Spain that included the breakfast. With an early flight one day the front desk had arranged a picnic for us instead. Great location. Very helpful staff who speak English. free wi fi

Great location 2 minutes from Catalunya and La Rambla. Full breakfast kept us going all day until supper. Great price. Requested same room (suite) we had the year before and we got it. Will be going back.

The location was excellent; a 5 min walk to the Ramblas, also close to a metro station and a small market. The room was clean and tidy. The bathroom had a quite good number of amenities. The wi-fi signal in the room was very poor, it did not work very well. The walls in the room were thin, sometimes we... More

Walking distance to las Ramblas and to the subway. From this hotel you can visit most of the main attractions of Barcelona on foot. There is no lobby but each floor has a mini lobby. The shower is a problem: there is a fixed panel that doesn't stop water from splashing and if you are not careful, water flows. The... More

This hotel is a good value. We booked a four person suite but ended up with what appeared to be a regular room with a king size bed and two mattresses on the floor (not what the 4 person suite looks like on the website). Since we had several tall people the space was quite cramped. But, we were immediately... More

This hotel is a cheap deal but it's right at the top of Las Ramblas and close to a Metro station so the location is great. We arrived to find that our room was nice but the window offered a terrible view of, basically a wall, so I would recommend not getting the cheapest rooms available. Breakfast was OK, it... More

This little hotel is in a great location, clean, there are coffee and tea making facilities in the room. Good size bathrooms, we were upgraded to a suite as we we stayed 5 nights. The suite has a door which allows us to let fresh air in, no carpet in the rooms, which is great as it in cleaner. This... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
