We stayed here for two nights recently. *Reception and staff was friendly, helpful and clean. *Room (#105) was spacious, clean and had good facilities. There was a tv, but it only had spanish channels, but who watches tv when they've got Barcelona to explore anyway!! Our room had a cute little patio area opening out on to a square of... More

We stayed there for 4 nights and can honestly say for the price it's great value. Arrived approx 10pm with no issues checking in. Friendly staff and welcoming reception, once checked in was greeted with a clean, tidy from. Due to time of year the Air Conditioning was not in use which did make the room rather warm. Nice surprise... More

Great location to many sightseeing locations. 20 min walk to Casa Batllo in one direction and Montjuic in the other. La Rambla took us 10 mins. Rooms are clean & spacious with a bar fridge to chill your water or Cava. Buffet breakfast was simple with hot & cold foods but stomach space was needed for the vast amount of... More

Stayed for 5 nights in this hotel. We had a problem when we arrived being told that we did not have a reservation. Was a bit shocked with this as i had a confirmation. We were given a room which was delighted about as it was 11.30 at night when we arrived. Went down to reception in the morning to... More

Place is good, room also, but high priced as no service provided. Room was very noisy, we asked for another one, but were refused. No internet for the second day, promised to fix in 10 minutes still no way to have it. Breakfast was so salty asked to do less salt, same the next day. Won't waste your money look... More

The hotel is in a fairly location about a block from the Placa universitat that makes a good starting point for Barcelona exploration. The price is fair for the location too. The hotel/rooms is clean. The Metro and the airport buses stop within a block. Still I will not return because of some nagging details that as total adds up... More

We booked the Caledonian based on price & location but when we walked into reception it completely exceeded our expectations. The reception staff were very professional & efficient & the lobby was welcoming. When we reached our room, we couldn't believe our luck. The room was absolutely immaculate, a great size & the bonus of a little balcony facing the... More

This hotel is located near universitat station, the room I stayed in was quite small room for a double room, but it is enough for a single traveler. The view from the room was to inner courtyard. The hotel didn't have luggage carriers, so i needed to take my suitcase by myself. The stuff was very friendly and showed me... More

I stayed in a few of the Caledonian hotels across Barcelona. I will continue to do so when I stay in BCN. They are consistent with their pricing, their breakfasts are great, their rooms are clean, have a bath and a shower, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the location is great with easy access to public transport and... Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
