This is a great hotel in a superb location. Only 200 yards from Placa de Catalunya (we got the Aerobus from the airport and it dropped us off here) in the heart of Barcelona. The hotel is excellent, very clean with very helpful staff. We didn't eat in the hotel (breakfast was a bit expensive at 20 Euros) so we... More

Best location that you can ask for: 2 mins walk to the subway station, 5 mins walk to La Ramblas, 10 mins walk to the Market Boqueria for cheap fruits and eats, and it's a beautiful walk to the Barri Gotic area and to the shopping stores. My room was near the stairs and the escalator. Surprisingly, the noise was... More

Very central, lovely boutique style hotel. We had a balcony overlooking the courtyard, very peaceful. A Kettle in room so we had breakfast every day on the balcony. There is a Carrefour supermarket just round the back on La Rambla, just inside they do cups of pre prepared fruit for a Euro! There is also a supermarket in the basement... More

Our room was wonderful, we had a balcony with a table and chairs. It was such a nice place to have a late night meal. Also, it is located in a very convenient location with easy access to shopping, and dining. Would love to stay here again.

We stayed two nights in this hotel prior to boarding our cruise ship and were very pleased with our choice! The hotel lobby and rooms were small but very clean. A balcony room is a little extra but we enjoyed the view. Excellent WiFi service at no additional cost. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful and all spoke excellent... More

We had a room with balcony and view over the street. Payed extra for this. It was room number 107. We could not sleep in that room it smelled a lot of molde and we could hardly breathe. We stayed one night with the window open. I was very hot. The next day we got another room. It was ok,... More

Located near the Placa Catalunya this hotel is well designed with modern bathroom fixtures and wifi. Comfortable beds and wide screen tv in our room. Air conditioning is weak, but it was a hot week in Spain. Buffet breakfast available for 19 euros. Room was about 190 euros.

This hotel was a wonderful choice for many reasons. We were a party of two (mother and daughter) who had never been to Spain before, spoke no Spanish, and were traveling on our own. We took the "Aerobus" into the city from the airport, got off at Plaza Catalunya, and had no problem finding the hotel from there - a... More

Splendid! Mid range pricewise but felt better than that. Peaceful cool atmosphere (much appreciated after day out in heatwave). Lovely building, spotlessly clean. Rooms not over generous size wise but everything you need, all in perfect repair and condition - bathroom v. nice. Had a balcony room overlooking the busy shopping street on which it's located which was good -... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
