We really enjoyed staying here. The only aspect which is unusual is that the rooms' windows opened onto an interior space which felt odd but didn't really matter. Decor and cleanliness excellent. Staff very helpful especially with chaos caused by French traffic controllers. Breakfast is expensive but is a marvelous buffet and so actually good value provided you are hungry

We had a wonderful short break at the Catalonia Portal de l’Àngel. It is very centrally located close to the cathedral and the gothic quarter and a couple of minutes walk to Plaça de Catalunya where you can get on the Metro and the bus to and from the airport. The bus is easy to find at the entrance to... More

A beautiful hotel right in the heart of it. We had a room with a balcony over looking the Main Street which was great and no noise when the doors and shutters were closed. Rooms contemporary but cosy with tea/coffee, safe and toiletries. The reception is amazing and the pool area is lovely too. We didn't have breakfast as it... More

Stayed here for four nights with my wife and youngest son. It was a combination of business and site seeing, and this hotel was right in the middle of everything. We could not find any fault with this hotel and the staff could not do enough for you. Great breakfast too.

This hotel is very centrally located just off the main square. It is very comfortable and the staff could not do enough for me. An airport bus goes right to it. La Rambla is in the parallel street. I would thoroughly recommend this lovely hotel which is housed in a 19th Century villa. it has a swimming pool, cafe &... More

Just got back from a short stay in Barcelona and this hotel is in the best location for exploring all the tourist sights. Very quiet hotel, yet right in the shopping area and the Gothic Quarter and a short walk to the Ramblas. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Top tip buy a Metro ten journey ticket, 2 or more people... I booked a stay in this hotel and requested a room with a terrace for which I paid extra. I was shown to a room without a terrace but with a non accessible balcony. I was told this was the room I had paid for. I pointed out that the price list displayed in the hotel lobby disproved this but... More

I had previously tried out the other "Catalonia" chain in the El Born and was quite disappointed, however this one was miles better. The location is excellent for any touristic aspects as it is located next to buses, shops, restaurants, bars and attractions. You will find it very easy to get around from the hotel and will feel the action... More

Made our first hours in Barcelona wonderful. Helpful frot desk allowed weary travelers to check in early (11) and offered access to a wonderful walking tour of the Gothic Quarter (no charge, tips only, Jordy was excellent and knowledgable) Would come back in a minute.
