This hotel is within walking distance to Catalunya Square and many restaurants and shops. There is a small convenience store right across the street and a pharmacy less than a block away. The rooms were clean and spacious. Service was great. This was our first trip to Europe and it was surprisingly easy to navigate considering the language barrier (I... More

Just returned from my 2nd visit in a month. Perfect central location. Very modern hotel with very friendly staff. Bar staff in particular especially Vanessa and Guillermo are superb. Breakfast great selection and the food in the bar is also excellent. Try the Rib Eye Steak. Best I've ever had and I've had a few!!!!!!. Metro and Train station are... More

Husband, daughter (12) and I stayed here for 7 nights on points. Husband is platinum. The location is very good. The hotel is as described as lacking a lot of character. The room was an OK size, we had to pay for a larger room so we could have a roll away for our daughter. The bed was very comfortable... More

We have stayed at Marriott properties in Rome, Capri, and Paris and each hotel was absolutely beautiful and characteristic of it's city. Barcelona is a first class city with some of the most incredible architecture in the world. It was a great disappointment to see that the Renaissance Barcelona is in a nondescript building with no character whatsoever and that... More

Stayed for a couple of days pre cruise. Great location. Can walk to almost everywhere. Hotel modern but lacks charm & character. Basic room, dark bathroom, not much space for clothes pre cruise. Asked for a larger upgraded room(gold member). Told not available. Simple breakfast included. Server most pleasant & accommodating. Good for business travel not leisure travel. English spoken... We were passing through Barcelona and wanted a 5 star hotel near the airport. The hotel is very contemporary with glass walls and unusual rooms as they are all white or all black. We had a white junior suite. Every thing was fine and very clean , the only negative , that applies to many spanish hotels including 5 star,... More

Very Good hotel. Reasonable price. Great location. Helpful staff. Clean rooms. Nice breakfast and free WIFI for gold level guests. So, this is a nice hotel. Still, it needs a few adjustments. For a start, the hotel has the darkest bathrooms we've ever seen. And we travel a lot. The tile is black, the floor is black marble and all... More

Just returned from a weekend getaway in Barcelona and stayed at the Renaissance Hotel...not to be confused with the Renaissance Fira Hotel, which I'm sure will be equally good. Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
