About a five minute walk to La Rambla, and manageable walking distance to the Cathedral and La Sagrada Familia. as well as the Arc de Triumph. The hotel is very comfortable and well maintained. The roof top lounge area wasn't what we expected, but the breakfast buffet was really good. Kind of expensive so we used Marriott points. We would... More

We recently stayed at The Renaissance Hotel while visiting Barcelona before our cruise. Not only is this hotel in a great location, but it's very pretty and clean. It's also within walking distance of most major tourist attractions. I can't say enough nice things about the staff. They were so sweet and very helpful.

Im a Marriott fan but the Renaissance in my opinion was not up to Marriott standards. Yes, they were nice but not friendly. The concierge was the only person I would say went above and beyond in giving us directions and answering our questions on the area. The room was clean but extremely small for a platinum marriott member. Even... More

We were very impressed with the staff and with the facility. The staff was always helpful and informative. The location was outstanding as well being just a couple of blocks from the old part of town.

A very nice hotel build in two buildings, with a Jungle between. Nice big modern rooms, with big shower and comfort beds. Ocean view from the top floors, and a cool pool at the roof next to the bar. Restaurant is good and prices are fair. The front desk service is very helpfull.

A practical and convenient hotel with easy access to the key attractions in Barcelona. Small bar on the ground floor which is ideal for short meetings or relaxing after work. The terrace offers amazing views of the city and is great place to relax after dinner. The gym is compact as well as functional.

I loved this hotel because it was centrally located in the middle of Barcelona. We used points and were still treated great. I loved their breakfast that was included because we are platinum for Marriott. We stayed here for the first part of our trip and then stayed near the beach. This was a typical European hotel in the fact... More

My first stay at a Renaissance property was really nice. You can easily walk to city attractions such as Las Ramblas or Gaudi house. Rooms are spacious including huge bathroom. Coffee, tea service provided in room. Small closet and safe large enough to store laptop. Breakfast and lunch for our work group was excellent - two meat choices, salad, two... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
