Upon arrival at this gem of a hotel we were greeted with warm smiles and just a great attitude. We had our luggage lost by the airline and the wonderful people who work at this hotel did everything within their power to try to retrieve our luggage from the airport, as well as let us know where we could get... My cousin and I weren't sure what to expect and were a little nervous after reading some Tripadvisor comments about the noisy street at night, etc. We checked in, were given a fairly large room with two beds on the "courtyard" so quiet at night. The neighborhood was right in the middle of everything we wanted to see...between Las Ramblas... More

Very nice location, five minute walk from La Ramblas and the harbor; 15 minute walk to sandy beaches. Nice public space, room on the small side but very serviceable. Management sent up a personalized Happy Birthday note along with a fruit plate and bottled water. Apparently noticed my birthday while processing the passport at check-in. Nice touch. Minor issue with... More

We had a pleasant stay, despite pre-travel concern that hotel wouldn't live up to its picture. We got one of the large rooms that came with 2 single beds. Worked out fine! The beds aren't that comfortable and room wasn't perfectly cleaned around corners. I did get a few dust bites. But can't complain that much. We were close to... More

The hotel is very close to Los Ramblos and was clean and friendly. We found the shower not working the first night and it was fixed for us the very next day. The people who rBarcun it are helpful and nice. The coffee in the lobby costs money and the delicious sweets cost money too, but it is ok. The... More

Found the location ideal for our few days stay in Barcelona. A few minutes walk takes you to the bottom of the Rambles and Drassanes metro station, from there you can easily get around. As others have mentioned there is an occasional smell evident only in the lobby and lift, don't know if this is from the city drainage system.... More

The location was perfect - easy walk to the cathedral. Bars and restaurants on the same street. Nice room, loved sitting out on the balcony. Room was clean and pleasant. We didn't have breakfast there so I can't comment on that. Would have been nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the room, but otherwise very happy and we... More

Nice hotel with good location. Near to the beach, near to La Rambla, near to many nice restaurants, tapas and bars. Room was good but strange with a wall between or single beds (booked a doubleroom). Our room was located into the middle and there was no sound from the street, very good. There was a strange smell of mould,... More

If like me you are after a good value hotel with a comfortable bed and are more interested in its positioning, then you really can't go wrong with this hotel. Staff are friendly, hotel is clean and I certainly couldn't complain about anything during my stay. Its biggest plus was where its situated. A short walk from the hotel you... More

Nice clean hotel at a good price (out of season) with good extended breakfast. Price/quality of the breakfast is outstanding when ordered upfront ((almost 30% reduction). Kind and helpful staff. Smell of sewer occasionally in the hall is not a problem.

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
