We came to Barcelona for a long weekend. We took a taxi from the airport. The hotel is at a great location- near a main piazza but not too close so it was not loud. Our room had a small kitchen area and a sitting area (with a sofa bed) that could be seperated from the bedroom and bathroom. But... More

The space you get is double the size of your normal hotel room - more akin to a large suite - but that is why it is called AKO Suites I suppose... You get a small kitchen, sitting room, breakfast bar, bathroom/shower area etc and very large two-bedded double bed. The location is very good, we found four very good... More

This is a lovely place. The reviews were very positive and the rooms well priced so it seemed too good to be true. In fact this place is fantastic and well placed for exploring the whole of Barcelona. The room was very clean and the staff very friendly, I would recommend this place to anyone.

Good location for shopping and transportation. Room is cleaned and quiet. Free Wi-Fi. But, it is small room and bath is located in center of the room. I have to say it is a business style hotel. But, my family enjoyed staying at this hotel because it was good location for shopping and eating.

We spent four nights at the AKO Suite Hotel in October and were very happy with our stay. I can’t add much to what others have written: the central shower and toilet with glass walls is very weird and something I could have done without, but we liked everything else about the apartment. We were facing the rear of the... More

Three of us stayed at Ako Hotel for a total of two weeks as a family member had back surgery at Quirion Hospital (extra charge per night for 3rd person). Since we stayed so long we really got a feel for the hotel and staff. For ease I've outlined our thoughts line by line. We stayed in several rooms until... More

I really enjoyed the hotel. But the hotel does horrible recommendation for restaurants. Around 10 PM, 11th September, we asked a receptionist to recommend us a good restaurant for paella. He recommended Marzan and we went there. The service and food were horrible there. We asked the price of Paella. It was 24 euros. Overpriced. Since we were not hungry... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
