Having stayed here twice before, I have now booked again for July. On reception if you are early, there is storage for belongings, the reception staff are wonderful, friendly and kind. There is a cooking, eating and storage area to enjoy your own food, even 2 large refrigerators, well last time any way!!! There is a roff terrace with washing... More

We stayed there for 4 nights. The place was great, just a few steps far fron the Rambla Str and Licau Metro station. Never felt in danger, although we came home late. The staff was helpful, polite and did speak english! We stayed in a double room on the 5th floor with 2 disadvantages: There was annoying noice coming from water... More

This was a last minute booking with not much availability in central Barcelona and I was encourgaed by the location, good value and Booking.com photos... however, the internal room I was allocated looked nothing like on the photos and felt more like a cell with a brick wall outside and quite claustrophobic. There was privacy film on the lower half... More

We booked our stay here while in Barcelona through Booking.com. While it states on Booking.com that it is a hotel, it is in fact a hostel. The rooms are extremely cramped, dark, and hot. They do offer A/C...for 10 minutes. The process to get A/C turned on in the room deters you from ever calling downstairs for a request--call downstairs... More

This small University Hall is located just one minute away walking from the Liceu metro station, which is the heart of the La Rambla district: thus, it is walking distance from most attractions in the city centre and a short metro ride from the train station or the airport bus. My only complain were the street noises (which are logical... More

I spent 3 nights at this hotel in downtown Barcelona. The staff were very helpful especially the evening shift guy as he let me lock my bicycle in a room down stairs. The hotel was in a side street off las Ramblas so if you want to stay downtown this is a great location. It was surprisingly quiet for the... More

This is really center - just 1 min walk from metro station Liceu and from Bokeria market / Rambla. You can arrive/departure to/from Barcelona airport very late and always use night bus till Catalonia sq. and after walk 10-15 min to hotel. Wi-Fi is free, but sometime poor connection. Hotel is dirty, rooms very small and I got special quest... More

Booked this hotel mainly for the location as a first-timer in Barcelona. Seconds away from La Rambla, near to both beach line and bus stops for the airport. Staff was friendly and overall the hotel was clean and tidy. My single room though, was so unpleasent that I did not want to stay there more than I had to. The... More

After much deliberation, I chose Barcelona as my first summer euro trip, and how amazing it was! I checked in to residencia universitas and was impressed by the cleanliness, and the location. It is two minutes walk from Mercat bouqueria which are great to pop down to for breakfast.. Or lunch! The staff here are so helpful, multilingual and are... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
