We were a group of 3 individuals who stayed in this hostel the day we landed at Barcelona. The location is outstanding. A very quiet locality, and its close to the happening Catalunya square (a good 20 min walk). The staff here is really good. Martha was extremely helpful to us when it came to educating us about the happening... More

Clean dorms, bathroom and kitchen facilities. The place was quiet during the day, noisier on a night due to restaurants outside but nothing major. An easy walk into the heart of Barcelona or the network is close. Overall a pleasant stay.

I was there for four nights, with my brother, in room nr 3, a room with four beds - but it was only for us and we pay as a twin room. The owners were really nice and made everything for us to have a comfortable stay. The room was tidy, and it has two lockers (you have to bring... More

Description of this hostel is misleading. There is a kitchen but if you want to cook you have to pay 5 Euros each time! Also the towels should have been included but they weren't. Very load because it's located next to a busy street. No aircondition in the rooms. Bathrooms can't be locked and you have to share, two showers... More

Pros: location, staff, balcony, social room, extisting kitchen, WiFi is working. Cons: noise from the street, old facilities, extra charges for using kitchen, keeping luggage after check out, washing, key deposit (not mentioned on the website), whatever room you have, it always has 3 twin double deck beds. When we arrived to the place we were a bit dissappointed because... More

we booked After sitting in Barcelona Sants station, so were honestly just happy to find a room! But when we arrived at the tree-lined street of the main hostel, we were already so excited about the location - a flat, maybe fifteen minute stroll (it's Spain, who's counting!) from Plaça de Catalunya. At check-in we requested a private room instead... More

I was about to stay 2 nights on the After Hostel, and I made a reservation for the whole weekend. But when I got there on friday night, after more than 40 minutes waiting, they simply told me that the hostel was completely full. They simply ignored the reservation I had paid and took me to a strange apartment (not... More

I decided to spend a few days in Barcelona in April 2011. The budget was not so big, and I chose the After Hostel. As usual the hostels have better locations then cheap hotels. After hostel is situated near to the centre of Barcelona. The facilities were not so good. The bath cabins look a bit decrepit. The door is... More

We just needed a place to stop over enroute to Marbella, hence chose this hostel as reccomended by a friend. The location was lovely, easy to find and walking distance from the the square that the buses from the Airport arrive at (note: locals say its too far to walk, but its a 15 min pleasant walk) We got a... Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
