very nice hotel, as the name it is retro chic and basic - but in a good way, more like clean cut. the place is pretty clean, aesthetic, very COOL. it has a small bar for coffee or a drink that also provide the breakfast, which was satisfying. the staff is very friendly and helpful. it is a bit hidden... Stayed at this hotel on a recent business trip. It was definitely not your typical hotel. Somewhere between Soho and Berlin. Rooms are very basic, but spotless. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was terrific. The location is hard to compete with. Convenient to all the cool restaurants, hotels and piazzas. Be open to something completely... More

As everyone has said this has all the basics but done in a very retro chic way. But location is everything and this is in a great location. You are about 50 metres from the subway, 100 metres from las rambles and about 150 metres from the old gothic quarter. Just slightly further to the beach. It had a great... More

We stayed at the Hotel During February - we were most impressed by the staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. The Manager Franc was very attentive to everyone's needs and made you feel that you were in your own home. The accomodation was spotlessly clean and the kitchenette was an added bonus. The location is perfect for both... More

We were two girls traveling for a long weekend to Barcelona and found this Hotel perfect! The Hotel it's self is stylish and rooms are simple but clean and look nice. The staff were always helpful and gave us advice on all the best places to go in the city. The Hotel is perfectly located right in the center a... More

Just returned from a weekend break! First of all... Be careful with taxis from the airport!! We got ripped off on our journey from airport! The meter reading showed 18 Euros but the man pressed his buttons loads of times giving a total of 43!!!! We were really annoyed afterwards that we had allowed this to happen! Oh well. Expect... Stayed at the C&B Ramblas 3 years in a row, for MWC. The location is great, the staff are friendly, rooms are clean, and pricing is ok for the season. On the other hand, rooms are tiny and facilities are really basic, making it a challenging for a business traveler.

On my third visit to Barcelona for a night break we stayed here. What can I say it is perfectly situated off las Ramblas and near to bars and restaurants. The port is only a few minutes away as transport links. The hotel is quirky with a retro feel to it . The decor is unusual with the bedroom doors... More

We enjoyed a three night from Saturday of February 2015 (Valentines day) and I have to say this is an excellent hotel. The location is superb step outside the entrance turn left walk for about a minute and you are at the bottom of The Ramblas which is the main tourist strip. You will also find a underground station here... More

Set in a fantastic location just off the bottom of Ramblas, this hotel was clean, stylish and had everything we needed for a trip to Barcelona. The room even had a little kitchenette which was great and the balcony was a nice touch too. There was a small problem when we arrived as their booking system was off line but... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
