Set just behind the ramblas , this hotel is in heart of the city and also very close to the waterfront but in a that allows it to still be quite and get a good nights sleep, enjoy a drink on your balcony ( if you opt for the superior rooms) or in the very cool bar. The staff were... More

... right place. Excellent Hotel, because you feel the staff really cares. Yes, that´s true. Which is very very rare in these days. Extremely friendly, helpful and not creating a hectic. Smart, laid back stay. Located close to Las Ramblas, quiet, and with a special personal note, this hotel is highly recommendable.

Just back home after a 4 night stay over Easter, What a Great Little Hotel ! Brilliant Location for the Ramblas, it's been said by many other reviewers but this is a Great Hotel, with Great Staff and Great Rooms (We were in 404, which was Brilliant) , I could go on for ages about it and bore you to... This hotel is just off La Ramblas. Quiet enough at night yet close enough to the action. Lovely friendly staff. The hotel is decorated beautifully. The rooms were very clean! Would come here again. Only issue is the air con didn't seem to work. It was hot in February.

This is a quirky and cool place to stay. Chic and basic, just as the titles suggest, but with lovely charm. The staff were very friendly and helpful, happy to recommend places to eat and go. We stayed for three nights and found it was a perfect location in walking distance to las ramblas and other attractions. The atmosphere downstairs... More

very nice hotel, as the name it is retro chic and basic - but in a good way, more like clean cut. the place is pretty clean, aesthetic, very COOL. it has a small bar for coffee or a drink that also provide the breakfast, which was satisfying. the staff is very friendly and helpful. it is a bit hidden... Stayed at this hotel on a recent business trip. It was definitely not your typical hotel. Somewhere between Soho and Berlin. Rooms are very basic, but spotless. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was terrific. The location is hard to compete with. Convenient to all the cool restaurants, hotels and piazzas. Be open to something completely... More

As everyone has said this has all the basics but done in a very retro chic way. But location is everything and this is in a great location. You are about 50 metres from the subway, 100 metres from las rambles and about 150 metres from the old gothic quarter. Just slightly further to the beach. It had a great... More

We stayed at the Hotel During February - we were most impressed by the staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. The Manager Franc was very attentive to everyone's needs and made you feel that you were in your own home. The accomodation was spotlessly clean and the kitchenette was an added bonus. The location is perfect for both... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
