Charming retro/botique hotel with great style and comfort. I had room 606 which had a lovely balacony overlooking the distant seaport and city. Wonderful to drink wine on after a long hot day of sightseeing. Location was perfect. The biggest asset to this charming hotel is the staff ...EDGAR, you are th best! You took great care of us and... Location is excellent, some steps from Colon Monument ( there is a stop of turistic bus there), las Ramblas, Aquarium and beach almost 3 km from the Hotel. This Hotel is hiding behind a big building, but is secure and has fantastic design features, You'll see when enter into the lobby, restaurant or into the room next door of the... More

We stayed for 3 nights over a long weekend. Absolutely fantastic concept. Cool, chic, basic and affordable. I would recommend having breakfast in the rambles at a cafe rather than at the hotel, it's a bit expensive. Other than that I have absolutely no complaints! I just wish there was a chic and basic in every major city!

The staff were very helpful and responded quickly to our requests. The location was extremely convenient, 3 minutes walk from "Drassanes " metro station. I particularly loved the ILLY's espresso at their bar.

very happy with the location...just across the road is the Drassanas Metro station...this helps to get to the Airport or to the Barcelona Sants Railway station in the most economical way. La Ramblas is just a hop away....lots of good restarants....just a five min walk to get on to the Hop on Hop off bus turistic red line....Must do on... More

This hotel is indeed chic. The lobby is really nice and cozy, with cool design details. The people working at the hotel were really nice! I always got good service and they greeted me with smiles when I passed them. The hotel is actually quite easy to find although it is hidden from the big streets. It is just right... More

Set just behind the ramblas , this hotel is in heart of the city and also very close to the waterfront but in a that allows it to still be quite and get a good nights sleep, enjoy a drink on your balcony ( if you opt for the superior rooms) or in the very cool bar. The staff were... More

... right place. Excellent Hotel, because you feel the staff really cares. Yes, that´s true. Which is very very rare in these days. Extremely friendly, helpful and not creating a hectic. Smart, laid back stay. Located close to Las Ramblas, quiet, and with a special personal note, this hotel is highly recommendable.

This hotel is just off La Ramblas. Quiet enough at night yet close enough to the action. Lovely friendly staff. The hotel is decorated beautifully. The rooms were very clean! Would come here again. Only issue is the air con didn't seem to work. It was hot in February.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
