My mum and I were staying in Granvia just over night. However i just loved it as soon as we walked into the hotel. First,is perfectly located in the center of Barcelona, which I wanted especially for mum, so we can easily get on the sightseeing bus and see at least little of Barcelona (my mum's first time) in the... The location of this hotel is very close to Placa de Cataluyna from which you can take the airport bus. Metro right outside the hotel. Easy walk to Ramblas. Hotel staff spoke English fluently and were friendly and helpful. My single room was small, but comfortable. Will stay here again when I return to Barcelona.

Great location, easy walk Placa Cataluyna. We had a small interior room, no dresser and closet was small. No big deal to us. Granvia has a nice terrace area for drinks in the evening. Had to find the server to get the drinks. Only one elevator that is slow. Again no big deal. Would stay again if we return to... More

First, the Granvia is located within easy walking distance to Passeig de Gracia, Las Rambles, and the neighborhoods of Barri Gotic, El Born, Eixample and El Raval. Metro stations are minutes away that can provide transportation anywhere (very easy to use). The airport bus stop is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. There are lots of breakfast cafes nearby.... We stayed at the Hotel Gran Via one night since we had to fly out of Barcelona very early the next morning. We were re-visiting this hotel after a good experience many years ago before it was renovated. We remembered the beautiful staircase up to a lovely lounge that opens on to a large terrace. Check-in is 3pm. We arrived... More

Just a lovely hotel. Has the old world look and feel, but updated and modern. I booked this based on reviews here on TA and was not disappointed. Arrived early so had to wait for my room, Eduard the front desk gentleman was just as friendly as could be, superb customer service! He continued to check on me, provided me... More

This place is as chic as they come -- without being silly. It's an old mansion that's been updated... our 2008 edition of Rick Steve's says it's over the top roccoco -- not anymore! They bought the entire Restoration Hardware catalog and painted everything white with black trim and added huge 1940's era photos of fashionable lasses playing. Unbeatable location... More

This hotel was perfect!!! The location was great for everything we wanted to do in Barcelona. The A/C & the wireless internet both ran well. The front desk staff were so courteous & so very helpful - assisting us with plans & recommendations each day. The terrace was a beautiful place to start the day with breakfast or to relax... More

I had been planning a trip to Barcelona for the last couple of years for myself, my husband and our teenage son. So, with our leave booked from work I threw myself into researching the numerous hotels and different areas in the city. This hotel stood out due to it's location (just off the passeig de gracia), and the very... More

During a 5 night stay last week, we had to find alternative accommodation at very short notice (see Amra Barcelona Gran Via review). This place not only had availability but they let me view the room before I committed, to ensure everything was to my satisfaction. And they let me move in at 09:00 in the morning. Marti on reception... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
