I have spent 5 night in Urquinaona Hotel last December. The room are okey, you can't ask for more, the have everything you need and are good looking (modern) with a private bathroom. During the night it is completely quiet, so you can have a good sleep. The breakfast is good, some people may complain but I like it. The... More

the best of the hotel is the central location, a stone-throw from placa catalunya, ideal for sifgt seeing, shopping and "pub crawls. I had a room facing the noisy road but nevertheless I slept well. My room was simple and clean. The heating was working. The shower cabin is half-open and water is spraying allover the bathroom when taking a... More

Location is perfect, in the city center, balcony in the room was great, especially if you wanna smoke. Tiny room, but you have everything you need. I would definitely recommend this hotel. It was great value for money.

Great location and friendly staff at the reception, but that's it. Very noisy at night. As soon as you enter the hotel there's a smell in the entrance and elevator. The floor of the room and bathroom were not cleaned (well). Both me and a friend (who was in another room) had a cockroach in the bathroom.

It's a small hotel. The room has the basic facilities we need. It is clean. Everything worked properly in room. I like the rain shower in the bathroom. The staffs are friendly and nice and always prompt to help us. Even though the breakfast, that is served from 7:30-11:30, is not that varied but it could make us full and... More

Great location. The room is a little tired but on the plus side there was a free safe a fridge and a kettle. Breakfast was adequate, if a little repetitive, when your there for more than 2 days. Very easy to walk to the main sights of Barcelona

Good hotel with perfect location in the city centre and a serviceminded staff. When visiting a big city like Barcelona you want to get as much out of the stay as possible and not spend time on buses or Metros to get to where you want to go. Hotel Urquinaona on Ronda de Sant Pere is located in the very... More

The location of this hotel is fantastic, pretty much right in the centre of town & right next to the Urquinaona metro station. The staff at reception where helpful & speak English quite well. We booked a twin room & were lucky to be given a triple instead so it was a bit bigger. Overall the place is dated but... More

It is a one star hotel, but absolutely good for people who arrive to Barcelona for sightseeing. It is central, Plaza Catalunya is a 3 minute walk. The rooms are not big, but for us it was not the point, because we spent time in the room only at night. It is very clean, staff clean it every day. The... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
