I had an interesting experience in this hotel. I bought room for two person for three days from expedia and 1 day from another site. Our first room was for three person (I knew before I bought). And it was at the fifth floor. Second room was a double and it was at the second floor. Our first room had... More

sarcastic disinterested staff, worst of all was the room, no pretty balcony, window overlooked the alley way full of stinky garbage. view was ratty cement wall and bathroom reeked of mildew and mold, furniture was cheap old and beaten up. breakfast was for a european hotel quite tacky. tv was a few spanish channels. at some point saving a dollar... Great central location, comfortable bed, great shower. Breakfast was poor and disappointing TV, no English channels at all. Very handy for underground and most attractions. The staff were great bar one female who was easily the rudest receptionist we have ever come across. We had a problem with the safe and she could not have been less helpful and downright... More

My friend and I stayed at Hotel Urquinaona for 6 nights and we definitely have more good things to say than bad ones. I'll start with the shortcomings: The breakfast is edible, though it isn't sufficient in case you intend to devour. It also doesn't change and there's hardly a vriety of choices. And now for the advantages: The location... More

The price was good and the location of the hostel was perfect. The unique thing is that the quality of some general things like breakfast, installations... was not so good. Anyway, if it is only for sleeping and staying in a good location it is ok.

Me and my friend went to visit my daughter so wanted a close by hotel. It was a lovely hotel , with lovely staff , its central location was ideal for walking to Las Ramblas, Arc de Triomf, and the Born district. Hotel is clean , secure with 24 hr reception who buzz you in and out. We had a... More

Right in the heart of Barcelona. You have a subway in the corner, walking distance (5 min) to Plaça Catalunya and Las Ramblas. The rooms are small and a bit noisy. Breakfast included with the fee, coffee, fruit, bread cheese and ham. Good balance regarding proce and quality.

Walking distance to most sights in down town Barcelona. Great location. Our room was at first floor to the street. Actually the street noise was bearable but there was an earthquake type of noice. Maybe the subway as it sounded like a train. This noise was annoying. Great breakfast.

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighborhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighborhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
