I would highly recommend this hotel. I stayed with some friends a few weekends ago. It is centrally located and quiet, off the main street, but close enough to enjoy Las Ramblas. The service was excellent, in particular Joni in reception who helped us with everything from reservations to printing boarding passes. The restaurant is also good and reasonably priced.

We were moving around the La Ramblas and came across Hotel Espana. It was located right on the most happening area of Barcelona! We liked the hotel immediately at the look from outside. It had a very grand classic look, was very clean and professionally managed front office. We checked the rooms on the Internet and booked without further delay... More

We ate at the restaurant for lunch but did not stay at the hotel but the food was great and good value. The restaurant itself is one of the lesser known architectural gems of Barcelona. Nearby you can pat 20 euros just to see architecture like this!.....with no food.

On check in there was ONE rude front desk clerk checking people in and out. He checked me in said "heres your key take the elevator & find your room, your luggage will follow". My room was very hot and the AC wasn't working. The bellman arrived with my luggage He phoned the front desk and my room was changed.... More

stayed in the Espana for three nights last weekend. really excellent staff made the stay thoroughly enjoyable. It's a beautiful building seconds off Las Ramblas or 2 minutes from the Bohemian Raval district. Lots of nice cafes and bars within strolling distance.Barcelona is just like any other city - keep your wits about you and you should be ok. If... More

As said location down a Ramblas side street and two minutes from Liceu Metro was perfect. Option of express or full breakfast was welcome. Rooms comfortable. Though recommend you insist on inner courtyard room. Our front facing room was very noisy. Hotel is itself architecturally very ornate and worth a look around

My room was clean and pleasant. At first glance the room itself was fine, if a tiny bit overpriced. My biggest complaint is that it was loud. I could hear every other guest coming and going, showering, talking....perhaps it was my room location, but it was really loud. On top of that, the faucet in my bathroom sink wouldn't stay... More

Great Hotel, location is so central yet tucked away so you have peace and quiet too. Great value for a top hotel in a busy European City. We are in a suite and it has everything and more in terms of facilities and our own terrace too. Very impressed.

This hotel is located on the center Rambles street. The hotel is newly redecorated. The room is very nice and comfy. The bath room is good but there is only shower no bath tub. The breakfast buffet is very limited and does not worth € 20 extra. The only negative point is that hotel was loud at night in hallways.

We recently stayed at Hotel España for 3 nights. This was our first visit to Barcelona and were very please with the location. It is close enough to all the action but on a quiet side street.
