We had a 3 night stay this week on the top floor room 503 with no complaints. Quick check in and out, beautiful decor throughout the hotel. We didn't eat at the hotel as we didn't have time as so much to do and see. The bar and restaurant looked good value and always busy. The market just up the... More

My wife and I spent three nights in a deluxe room (202) within Hotel Espana after spending time sifting through Tripadvisor reviews. We were very conscious of a few reports of overnight noise from Carrer Sant Paul, so had therefore requested a quiet room. On two of the nights however there seemed to be excessive shouting between 1.00 - 3.00am.... More

People serve a very well and warm welcome when we check in. The room look very nice and elegant, especially the room in upper floor. Though I like double bed, the twin bed I lived in was totally fine, room space even bigger than double bed room. Music speaker is provided, but only for iphone user. Minibar in the room... More

Very smart boutique hotel with all modern conveniences such as in room wifi. The design of the layout, architectural feaures makes this a pleasure on the senses. The bedroom had a backlight display feature wall. All the lighting is subdued and for effect. Very atmospheric. The staff are delightful and assist every need. Cannot fault at any level.

This is such a stylish hotel. The public spaces are beautiful in the modernista style. Both restaurant areas are exceptional as is the food on offer. Staff are helpful and pleasant. We had no complaints about noise. Room 319. The hotel is in a great location to access the sights of Barcelona and the short walk from the Ramblas to... More

This hotel is so central to all that is happening in Barcelona and I'd go back there in a heart beat. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed with a balcony overlooking the Carre Sant Pau - which was lively so you had the option of closing up the room and shutting out the sound if you felt you... This hotel is smart, comfortable, thoughtful and very clean. The service from top to bottom was excellent and could not be faulted. The room service options were a little basic, but the food I ate was quick and very tasty. I was impressed. The rooms are typically European sized but modern, fresh and clean. The shower's great and the best... More

Perfect for Las Ramblas, this hotel made a great base for a three night visit. Just off the main drag so it's quiet. The bar was great and we managed to see El Classico in there with loads of food for a very reasonable price. I will be returning there.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
