This hotel is in an amazing location right next to Rambla. The staff are so friendly and will do anything to make your stay more comfortable. The building itself is beautiful & great to look around. The room was clean & comfortable, & surprisingly quiet considering the location. The bed was so comfortable I want it for at home. The... More

We stayed at Hotel Espana whilst on holiday in Barcelona, it was lovely. I honestly can't fault it. The rooms are lovely and clean, we stayed in a superior room that was very spacious, perfect for a couple on holiday. The staff were very friendly, Kat the bar tender from the terrace bar was particularly helpful as one night we... More

Hotel Espana is a really great place to stay in Barcelona. Not too far from the Ramblas, 5 min away from the Boqueira Market (to grab fruits, juice or tapas anytime) but in a quite neighbourghood! The terrace on the roof is cool with even a small pool where you can refresh when it's too hot! People at the reception... More

With a tasty, plentiful breakfast to start the busy day, Hotel Espana and its location helped our exciting tour around the city. Amazing was the "undersea" decoration in the breakfast room. Altogether the style of the hotel was so attractive and the staff helpful with all our questions.

We decided to treat ourselves to an expensive hotel in Barcelona so booked an executive room in the Hotel Espana for 3 nights in July. We were just delighted with our room on the top floor as despite being on the small side it had a wonderfully large balcony with loungers and chairs and a table and it was fantastic... More

The hotel is very beautiful and on a ideal tourist location. The breakfast was very good, mojito cocktail at the lobby bar also (a little bit expensive than other places - 12 euro but good quality :) I love the restaurant marine design! The room was clean and cosy. At the early mornings and at the late evenings sometimes was... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
