Based on the reviews here the renovations are now over so the overall experience is probably very positive. We were visiting last March but already back then it was clear the scenery towards the plaza will be great. The location is very convenient and the airport buses are just a few minutes away. The common areas and reception in the... More

Went here in November 2014. We got the Airport bus T2 Location is approximately 2 min walk from the bus stop in the heart of Barcelona, as we were only staying 3 nights we opted for the budget rooms they were of high standard though a bit to close to reception and you could hear people coming and going, The... Decided to stay in the heart of the city - Placa Catalunya for its accessibility and airport shuttle to El Prat and found this hotel at the junction of the streets ( Rambla de Catalunya & Ronda Universidad) which faces all the action. Note: accommodation in Barcelona all year round, even the winter off-peak season, is pretty pricey (hostals as... More

Location location location. Everywhere seems like a stone-throw away so much so that it can be forgiven that the room itself is a bit crampy - Not much space to move around. Toilet is small as well. Indeed, everywhere (metro, supermarkets, eateries and restaurants, attractions, shopping centres etc) seems so near that we walk by foot instead of taking the... More

This is a very small hotel which is on the 3rd floor of a building on the corner of Placa de Catalunya. This hotel has the best possible location in all of Barcelona! Our room had a great view of Placa de Catalunya, and even a small balcony with a couple chairs. The hotel has great security as the building... More

We booked this hotel for a brief stay in October before our cruise departure-we had low expectations, since it was to be a short stay, and we were really more concerned with affordability. We were so pleasantly surprised to find that it had a superb location for exploring Barcelona. The staff was extremely helpful and nice, and though the room... More

It had a small balcony where I enyojed my morning coffee in the sun. Locations is more than perfect and the breakfast is lovely. Would definetely recommand this hotel... More

Best location in the heart of Barcelona. Hotel is on the third floor of an old, multi-use building. Small, homey hotel with a helpful, multi-lingual staff. The room was really small and basic but neat and clean. Comfortable double bed. Nice shower. Small, old TV. Free WiFi. The only window opened on an air shaft.

The location is excellent! For first timer in Barcelona and don't speak Spanish, the location at plaza catalunya is right where the airport bus drops off at its' final stop. It is also where one can board the hop on/ off bus to tour. Which we did. Hector sends us an email to give clear instructions to find the hotel.... More

Hi Tan and family! We also enjoyed your visit. Just one bit of information for anybody interested in staying with us. Perhaps because of its size (ten rooms) and probably our personable approach and attention for detail, some clients call Hotel Ginebra a Bed and Breakfast. But it really is a hotel, so we have 24 hour reception and any... More

Great location, friendly and helpful staff! Our room was clean and spacious(perhaps because they put us in a triple instead of a single, but bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was deluxe by most European standards. We paid a very reasonable price and did opt for the $10 breakfast. Breakfast had a nice array of meat, cheese and fruit as... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
