From the description on the webpage and the pictures, we got the impression this is a hotel, but getting there we got the feeling of a hostel. Small rooms (had to squeeze out of the bathroom) but very comfortable beds and excellent cleaniness! Excellent location! The rooms are sound proof although the hotel is on a very noisy square. Air... Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. As it was our first visit to the city, the location was fantastic to enable us to easily find our way around using buses and metro services. The hotel has a left luggage facility which was great as our... More

I had a wonderful room looking right over Catalunya Square and a small balcony where I could sit and watch the fountains playing in the evening. (Caveat--not all rooms have this view). Hotel is well locating being between the Rambla and Leixample, so it is an easy walk to most places and the metro is right there. The hotel staff... More

I really liked this hotel. It wasn't fancy but it was nice, convenient and had a friendly staff. We chose a room with a view of the Plaza which was pretty nice. The fountains changed color at night and put on a show. The hotel is on the same street as Las Ramblas, which starts about a block down. The... More

We traveled as a group of 6 and booked two rooms at The Ginebra. The hotel is charming. It is a little hard to find as it is within a large building. Once you get inside the hotel it is quirky and lovely. The rooms are very modern and the bathrooms are lovely, plenty of hot water for all to... More

just returned from a four night stay in the lovely city of Barcelona . there are many good things to say about this hotel, where to start?. Location ! in my opinion does not get any better especially if you have not visited before. Directly on plasa de catalunya - it is action central . The airport bus stop in... More

Although we've stayed in bigger rooms, this one was very clean, tidy and had everything we needed from a well-planned bathroom through tea and coffee making facilities to a really comfortable bed. The small but adequate balcony gave a great view of all the hubbub in the Placa de Catalunya and the double-glazed doors kept noise to a minimum, with... More

I spent 5 nights in a single with a (tiny!) balcony at the Hotel Ginebra in late May. Although I have mixed reactions about my stay (because of the mix of pros and cons), I thought the pros outweighed the cons and think staying here was a good choice for me. Pros: • The location, overlooking the Placa de Catalunya,... More

This hotel is very centrally located. Service is very good and personable. The staff made us feel so welcome. The hotel is on the 3rd floor in a building that is quite old. We had a problem with the air conditioning leaking water. However the staff took care of the problem promptly and well. The receptionists were very helpful and... More

This place can't be beat for location and value! The staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. Yes the room was small but clean and well-appointed. The bed was some type of memory foam - a dream! The view on to Barcelona's main square was amazing! They will be adding more rooms, all larger, in August.

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
