My husband and I and our 21 year old son stayed here in July. It's in a great location close to the metro. The air conditioning in our room was awesome for the hot weather. The attached cafe is a good value with decent food and drinks and a discount for hotel guests. Very decent breakfast available from 8-10 am.

Never stayed in the hostal but used the café lots of times. the food was as good as any tapas bars and the drinks were the best prices , a glass of beer 1 euro 75, big glass of sangria 3 euros and was excellent.

A group of 13 of us stayed here for a stag do and it was spot on for what we needed. The rooms were a good size and really clean. The included breakfast was better than i was expecting so pleasantly surprised on that front. Great location, just a 2 minute walk to get to La Rambla. The only downside... More

Located in a central and buzzing street, Where all the entertainment happens. Didn't stay here, went to the cafe for breakfast. Which was the only place open at 7am. It was average but fresh pastry and good coffee.

I thought the location was brilliant, because it was walking distance to the La Rambla and other sites as well as the Metro. The room we had was adequate and had the essential needs like bed, toilet, sink, shower and wardrobe. Don't expect luxury, as this was more like a hostel. But otherwise the staff who were mainly Pakistanis were... More

Adequate rooms in a great location in quasi-pedestrian Carrer Ferran. Rooms very clean and well managed, breakfast the usual cereal, yoghurt, ham and cheese, but ample and good. Only drawback is it's difficult to drive here at awkward times of the day - taxi managed to drop us at the door on arrival but at times the streets are closed... More

I have always avoided hostels because of the myth that surrounds them but I was highly recommend this place and the price was so much cheaper than any hotel and was SMACK BANG in the middle of Las Ramblas and walking distance from Jamboree (nightclub) which is why I go to Barcelona and now I could go and walk back... The Hostal Fernando is located in the Carrer de Ferran, in the middle of the Gothic centre. You are only steps away from plaza de Jaume, Plaza Real, Ramblas... It's also located near 2 diffenrent subway-trails (station Jaume and station Liceu). The staff is very very friendly and also very helpful. We had breakfast included in our stay, and the... More

Located near the Gothic Quarter, this is a convenient hostel. The room was clean with a private shower. Towels were provided. A nice little extra for the shower were the little vials of shampoo and wrapped soap. There were a lot of offerings for breakfast and it worked well if you eat meat and ham. The offerings were not as... More

Nice tiny place in the old town. Great location, right next to La Rambla. Rooms are simple but sufficient. I spent here few days in January and it was a bit chilly in the room, since there is no heating.
