We did not stay at the hostal, but looking through the reviews it does look decent, we did however dine on more than one occasion in the cafeteria which is separate from the Hostal. The food is excellent and well worth a try, we dined here three or four times and we would not hesitate to recommend it.

Night-front desk VERY helpful with where to go for dinning, transportation, sights! Small place but clean, good bed, and strong hot shower!! Right next to Starbucks coffee, small bars and gelato ice cream spots. Also a small but convenient convenience store to buy refreshments (I.e. water, wine and beer) essentials. NOTE: keep in mind they stop selling alcohol at 2300!

This was my 2nd visit to Hostal Fernando and was just as good as the 1st! The front of house staff were friendly and helpful an then we went to our room We were in the "Pensioner" side with bathrooms in the room and they were not joking! The bathroom as huge and was literally for pensioners. It was a... More

This hostel has both basic hotel rooms on some floors and larger multi-bunk-bedded dormitory rooms on others. It is much used by student groups with their teachers, and as a result the dormitory sections can have very noisy parties in them at times. That being said, I didn't hear them from the hotel section where I stayed. Rooms are clean... More

Took 26 students to this hostal, was perfect location, very clean, good size rooms and excellent location. Would recommend to all tutors if planning a residential trip for over 18, or anyone who wants to just explore the city at a low cost. Will definitely use it again.

First the location is very nice but the hostel itself is not very good. Almost no Internet in the rooms and you have to go outside the room for Internet. The beds are very rough and the water in the shower was either too hot or too cold. Another surprise I had there is that i saw a small cockroach... More

Hostal is an average hotel.. Value for money is good and great location! The room is fine but it does not complete facility such as no power connection in the room i got. I was told this is due to renovation which should have been anticipated. Internet not very fast.

We arrived & forgot out ids, the guy behind reception was so unhelpful & just sat there saying 'sorry no ID no room' so I suggested we contact our 5 star hotel in Cambrils & have them email a colour scan copy which they did & all was sorted. The smell of the rooms were overpowered by bleach. The receptionist... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
