The location is perfect, the staff is very friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and the breakfast was ok for a middle class Hostal. There is some noise during the evening and night. I would stay there again.

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights in February 2015. I went on an organised trip with my college - if I was booking my own accomodation, I would not have picked this hostel! The location was really good though, central to all the shops, restaurants and literally a 2 minute walk to Las Ramblas. About a 20-30 minute... More

Nice and decent hotel. Staff is very nice and they sprak multiple languages. Rooms are clean and modern. We had a very nice bathroom: all new, big shower... Good room cleaning service, breakfast is basic but good, no outside noise from the ramblas or placa real and it's close tot everything. Only downside: it's also a (youth)hostal so depending on... Simple but nice, clean room with a nice bathroom, good for being a hostal. Close to everything in the center of Barcelona. We were not disturbed by noise even if it's close to La Rambla. The breakfast was OK.

Travelling in two couples, we stayed at Hostal Fernando in May and could not find fault. We arrived early and were allowed to put out bags in a locker, free of charge until our rooms were ready. The rooms were small but have everything needed for a short stay. There is lots of choice at breakfast and the bar and... More

We stay from april 10 thru april 16. It was our best choice. You are in the heart of barcelona all is walking distance and safe. You can find stores, bars, rest, metro station, taxis, entertainment and more. All the atractives of the city are near by. The staff of the property was very helpfull and nice. Rooms were clean... We did not stay at the hostal, but looking through the reviews it does look decent, we did however dine on more than one occasion in the cafeteria which is separate from the Hostal. The food is excellent and well worth a try, we dined here three or four times and we would not hesitate to recommend it.

Night-front desk VERY helpful with where to go for dinning, transportation, sights! Small place but clean, good bed, and strong hot shower!! Right next to Starbucks coffee, small bars and gelato ice cream spots. Also a small but convenient convenience store to buy refreshments (I.e. water, wine and beer) essentials. NOTE: keep in mind they stop selling alcohol at 2300!

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
