We have refused to check-in at another hotel (Pension Palacio) were we have already booked and paid due to horrible staff attitude, we were suddenly with no hotel after driving for several hours from south France, I have called Booking.com and they have suggested this hotel and helped with the booking, I had no means to check the hotel online... Great value for money. If you want a clean establishment in a great location then I recommend. The room was quite small but cleaned each day. 5 minute walk one way to La Rambla. Five minutes also to Placa de Catalunya. Literally 50 metres to Jaume metro station. Plenty of places to eat. We would definitely stay here again.

So my 11 year old son and I stayed in July for 3 nights. Got the train from the airport and used to local metro. Stop Jaume is literally across the street. Downfall is the lack of escalators or elevators in the metro system. We struggled. If you have a light case each its ok. So the hotel is easy... More

It is well located, nevertheless part of the staff is a disaster and non clear information is supplied. It is the only place in Europe charging for a kid sleeping on the same small bed. I felt like our little daughter was a problem for them, charging extra, and giving recommendation for avoiding kids' contact. I will never recommend this... More

I travelled with friends after exams and the Pension was well-suited for our tight budget and wish to be near the city centre. We stayed in the four-bed room. Being right opposite the metro station was a great amenity, and the gothic quarter is literally just around the corner, with both the Museu Picasso and the Cathedral of Barcelona five... More

Basic Room for 2 (11) but clean and fit for purpose - namely somewhere to sleep and shower. Ideally placed for Gothic Quarter and El Born - both have great buildings, bars, tapas venues. 20 mins walk to beach if you want to go there. 15 minutes walk from Placa Catalunya for the airport bus. 25 mins walk for Sagrida... A simple Pension with basic furnishings. Very clean & safe. Great location- a 2 minute walk from The Cathedral & Gothic area. Jaume 1 Metro station is just across the road, and behind that the Born area with interesting shops, chuches and squares. Our room was at the front of the building with a small balcony overlooking the busy Via... More

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
