the rooms are poor. Spring matress, very noisy, you can ear car everything in the coridors since quite early. Decor is poor and the AC is old, noisy and not refreshing at all. The breakfast is 16,5€ per person. The gym are only is just two machines: cycle and runing. No matress for abs/yoga nor weights. We had a bigger... More

I was a little worried as I didn’t book this hotel, but the client I was working for did. Well, the client must like us because this place is great. The Hotel Balmoral is located within a healthy walking distance to Sagrada Familia, La Rambla, and some of the best restaurants in Barcelona. The location is great. For my fellow... More

Very nice place to stay. In the right place of the city, close to all sight seening places and away from the noisy places. €5 and a taxi will bring you to the trainstation or you can walk, from there it's 25 min to the aeroporto. Subways are even closer. I had a single room inside so no noise from... More

We arrived in Barcelona on October 10th, 2014, 2 days prior to our Grand Mediterranean Princess Cruise. We wanted to spend extra time in Barcelona & the city & hotel did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Directions & suggestions were very helpful. The hotel was located in the downtown district & local transportation was very accessible.... More

We were at the hotel for an outing and tried hard to make friends. However , we couldn't have found The City of Barcelona more friendly and accommodating except for the our hotel. The front desk is not friendly or helpful. Forget about asking for help with local restaurants and outings. The bar simply gets a zero. Our group avoided... More

Stayed 2 nights in the fabulous 5star Balmoral and it certainly lived up to it's reputation! From being met at the door by a kilted Scotsman and our cases taken up to our room to our departure when the concierge found out for us the platform our train was going from nothing was too much bother. The bedroom was spacious... More

The hotel was chosen due to the location and proximity to a venue where the group would haver some meetings. It's an average 4* hotel in Gran Via where you can easily reach the main attractions of Barcelona. The rooms are simple but stay away from the interior patio view standard rooms. They're dark and not friendly at all. I... More

I and a group of friends I have just spent a long weekend at the Balmoral Hotel. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Very comfortable. Breakfast was very appetising and plenty of it. The bar staff were very helpful. The drinks were very reasonably priced.

Staying in Gracia

Neighborhood Profile
Gracia
Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the center, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. Carrer de Verdi, its main street, offers affordable restaurants and a movie theater that screens new as well as classic films in their original language. However Gracia's greatest treasure lies just up the hill at Guell Park, where Antoni Gaudi's vibrant and revolutionary art sculptures stand atop unequaled views of Barcelona.
