We arrived in Barcelona on October 10th, 2014, 2 days prior to our Grand Mediterranean Princess Cruise. We wanted to spend extra time in Barcelona & the city & hotel did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Directions & suggestions were very helpful. The hotel was located in the downtown district & local transportation was very accessible.... More

We were at the hotel for an outing and tried hard to make friends. However , we couldn't have found The City of Barcelona more friendly and accommodating except for the our hotel. The front desk is not friendly or helpful. Forget about asking for help with local restaurants and outings. The bar simply gets a zero. Our group avoided... More

Stayed 2 nights in the fabulous 5star Balmoral and it certainly lived up to it's reputation! From being met at the door by a kilted Scotsman and our cases taken up to our room to our departure when the concierge found out for us the platform our train was going from nothing was too much bother. The bedroom was spacious... More

The hotel was chosen due to the location and proximity to a venue where the group would haver some meetings. It's an average 4* hotel in Gran Via where you can easily reach the main attractions of Barcelona. The rooms are simple but stay away from the interior patio view standard rooms. They're dark and not friendly at all. I... More

I and a group of friends I have just spent a long weekend at the Balmoral Hotel. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Very comfortable. Breakfast was very appetising and plenty of it. The bar staff were very helpful. The drinks were very reasonably priced.

We looked for a plush hotel and THOUGHT this would be the one. It looks great from the outside along with the really attractive reception..... Once you get to the rooms oh oh they are so small and dingy Bathrooms.....mould growing in the corners of the bath......hand rail loose and the shower head leaking so you got a trickle to... More

Good hotel. Room are not too big, not too small. I had twin beds which I don't like, especially if they not really stay together. Wi-Fi connection was not very smooth, but got there at the end. I skipped breakfast so I can't say anything about that. The hotel has a parking in the basement which is convenient (EUR 22... More

Excellent location just off Via Diagonal and right where the Ramblas starts. Loads of restaurants and cafeterias. Could not have chosen better. Nice rooms even though a bit small. Clean bathrooms, good beds and air conditioned. Had to change rooms after the first night since it was a bit noisy. Staff very helpful and polite. Tried to use the spa... More

I will definately be back at this hotel because its near metro station diagonal and near Passeig de Gracia. Sagrada familia is just a few miles away. Staying in Gracia

Neighborhood Profile
Gracia
Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the center, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. Carrer de Verdi, its main street, offers affordable restaurants and a movie theater that screens new as well as classic films in their original language. However Gracia's greatest treasure lies just up the hill at Guell Park, where Antoni Gaudi's vibrant and revolutionary art sculptures stand atop unequaled views of Barcelona.
