Fairly new, no-nonsense hotel close to the Rambla. In a no-traffic area, but some noise from other rooms as the walls are paper thin. Cheap. It might not be to your taste, but I liked it. more

simple, cheap, clean, central location, hot water, hairdryer, A/C, safe, english speaking staff, ....really, what more do you want or need in Barcelona? I spent about 5 hours at most, just to sleep/ shower. BCN is too much fun to be in your hotel! more

I stayed at Hostal Opera with my boyfriend for a weekend in Nov 08. The location was perfect for a short break. It is right in the heart of Las Rambles and the gothic quarter is literally just across the street. Our double room was massive and clean. No issues with noise despite central location. more
