4 of 5 stars NEW

Located just 4 mins walk from La Rambla, 5 mins walk from Universitat Metro, and 10 mins walk from the Aerobus airport bus stop at Place Catalunya, the hotel could not be better located. It is finished in traditional Catalan style so is really very quaint, and therefore not everything is 'modern' and brand new (if you want that, go... More

We went for a 4 day, 3 night stay for Valentines weekend, it is an ideal location to get to Las Rambla and easy access to all tourist sites. Breakfast was continental served from 7 to 11 enough food to start the day. The bedroom wasn't big but as you don't spend loads of time in there then it isn't... More

This budget hotel is not at all luxurious, but it was OK for a night. The location is great, in a pedestrian zone near Las Ramblas. Our room was large and had a large balcony. However, our colleagues had small rooms. Our bathroom was tiny. The bed was comfortable enough. There were no plugs at bedside, so it was difficult... More

We recently spent 3 nights here. It is really well located near to Las Ramblas so great for getting to so many places. People refer to it as a typical Spanish hotel, but I must admit to being a little disappointed! The staff were really very friendly and helpful - so far so good. The common areas were definitely full... More

We spent 4 nights in this hotel & chose it because it's a typically Spanish older property, lots of character & in a brilliant location close to Las Ramblas & Plaza Catalunya. Not a faceless, modern hotel. The staff were all friendly & knowledgeable, the room comfortable & clean, & the towels were changed every day. There are plenty of... More

Whilst this hotel is adequate for a short stay it is not located in the most desirable of areas. It was a little discerning that on checking in the first thing you are advised about is the high crime problem in Barcelona and despite this warning my wife and I still became the victims of a pickpocketing gang on the... Location was good being a 5 minute walk from Placa Catalunya. A bit dated but our room was fine - after changing from the original 6th floor room they gave us which was not serviced by the elevator (it only went to 5th floor). Breakfast was just OK. If you just want a good location in a clean, inexpensive (for... More

This hotel is ideally situated for many attractions in Barcelona. Although it appears dated it has a certain rustic charm. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was exceptionally clean. The breakfasts were good with plenty of choice. The only criticism I have is that my room was lacking in natural light. However, as we were out most of... More

The thing we loved about this hotel was how Catalonian it felt.... It is not a super-efficient, bland anywhere-anyplace hotel. It is a small, quirky and charming hotel in a convenient part of Barcelona, well placed for the Ramblas and lots of local restaurants and bars - it is near the university and has lots of students living nearby -... Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
