After reading the review from the week before my stay, I was very concerned. If it weren't for the photos, I'd think we had stayed at different hotels. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was clean. I never felt unsafe. I did notice noise one morning around 8am, otherwise, it was quiet. The towels were big & thick.... more

This establishment is a filthy, tatty, noisy, unsafe dump, and most of the staff are inept and incompetent in the extreme. I presume that it was initially awarded four stars on the basis of its facilities, but amenities do not make a squalid, run-down hovel into a four-star hotel. Filthy. This hotel is very, very, very dirty. The carpets along... more

stayed there for one night. the walls are paper thin. for a four star hotel not to have european/us converters doesnt' make sense to me. it's in a decent location if you like being close to las ramblas. the rooms are darkly spec'd out, from the dark mahogany built in cabinets/shelves to the dark marble baths. seems a bit outdated.... more

We recently spent three nights at the Silken Ramblas and highly recommend this hotel. Positives: * great location, just off La Rambla, easy walking distance to Metro * modern and clean * front desk staff was polite and helpful * big and very comfy bed. This was a surprise as most beds in European hotels are queen or even full-sized.... more

We went to Barcelona for a long weekend and it has got to be said my abiding memory of this hotel would be the noise - not from late night revellers or traffic but from the bathroom! We stayed in a room on the first floor. The room was clean if not slightly compact but on the whole we were... more

My husband and I stayed for three nights in October 2008. Unfortunately, there was torrential rain for the couple of days we visited so spent alot more time than we planned on in the hotel room. This wasn't the pleasurable experience we'd hoped for. Firstly, the location of the hotel, off the "top" end of La Ramblas (el corte ingles... more

It was our first trip to Barcelona and we wanted a nice hotel to relax in that was convenient for the sights. On arrival the lobby was clean and impressive but the room was a big disappointment. It was a good size but the door from the corridor practically opened onto our bed, the walls were badly scuffed, the window... more

We booked this flight and hotel deal with Expedia and got a very good deal. Upon arrival to the ramblas via metro, it was buzzing from the word go! We had taken time finding a hotel that was close to the ramblas and was decent enough , and this hotel lived up to all expectations. It is a two minute... more

We booked this hotel on the internet after checking with tripadvisor and found the location excellent, just a short walk from the main street on La Ramblas. We arrived at the hotel having booked a standard room with a ipod walking tour of the city. On arriving at the hotel we found our room very small and a hugh wall... more

Pros: The hotel was very well situated right off La Ramblas, walking distance to shops, restaurants and the subway. The rooms were very comfortable and modern. Free wi-fi in the lobby, helpful front desk. Cons: Only few of the front desk spoke English well, but they were very willing to help. Overall a great value and great location. more
