The location of this hostel is perfect just 2 minutes away from ramblas; and the price paid for such a good location is awesome. I think no hotel/hostel in the area can beat such an awesome price (we paid a total of €300 for two for 6 nights). The guy in the morning is very helpful and friendly additionally he... More

I looked at most of the reviews before booking this place for my son's 18th birthday weekend, the place is ideal if you want a basic hotel in a great location, didn't see a single cockroach or stains on our beds. The rooms were all clean the bathroom was spotless and the shower worked perfectly, for a group of lads... More

Location is good, close to Plaza Catalunya, but that's about it. Guys at reception aren't particularly helpful. The double room we had felt oppressive. It is small, which in itself is ok, but without a/c it turns into a sweat box and in Aug/Sept we had to leave the fan on and small window open whenever we were in there.... More

One of Pension 45's greatest virtues is its ideal location as it is only a 2 minute walk away from two different underground stations (Universtat and Catalunya). Pension 45 is also located just a few minutes walk away from the famous Las Ramblas which offers a range of restaurants and shops. The hospitality was excellent and all the members of... More

You also have Carrefuor around 5 minutes walk on La Rambla- so you can make cheap food shopping. You can walk to pension from Placa Espanya- take bus 46... More

Pension 45 is situated just off the main street Las Ramblas and therefore, it is very convenient. The rooms are small and were very cold when we visited but an extra blanket was provided. It was quite noisy but this is to be expected when you are so close to the central area. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful.... More

Pension 45 is in the best location you will find in Barcelona. Had some early issues with staff being off hand/rude though to be fair the staff member did not have any English and me not having any Spanish did not help. This pension is spotless the rooms are small and basic but good value for money. The general ambience... More

My friends and I were dreaming to see Barcelona and we did get a chance of going there for 3 days. We ended at Plaza Catalunya and found Pension 45. It looks great from the outside and curiosity sake we checked it out. We saw smiley faces among the pension's staff and we felt like its good to stay here!... More

Just spend 3 nights in what can best be described as a broom closet with a shower. Some of my cotrevellers experienced cockroaches in their rooms, and the clerk was were either weird or grumpy. And we're talking 80€ per night. This is taken out of a bad movie, so surreal. They get one star for free and consistant wifi... More

The hotel is in an ideal location, 5 minutes walk from La Rambla and Placa de Catalunya. The rooms are average but comfortable and clean. Ideal base for a one or two nights stay as a group of friends. We specifically asked for 6 beds, when we arrived there were only 5, despite having asked. Although tbf the hotel staff... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
