The ELLA hostel is an excellent place to stay in Barcelona. It is not quite in the busiest tourist area, but is still within easy walking distance of all main attractions. The street is quiet, but restaurants are easy to find in the area. The staff are wonderful--very attentive, considerate, and comfortable speaking in English, Spanish, and French. The bathrooms... I've been in the hostel between may 22 and may 28, and i've loved the experience. The best of it is the location. At Carrer Girona, less then 10 minutos walking from Plaza da Catalunya, where you can visit the main places. In case you need the subway, there are 3 stations near the hostel. Talking about Ella Hostel per... More

This is the best hostel I've ever stayed at- from the staff to the huge room all the way to the huge patio. At the moment of checkin we felt like this place was different... they actually cared and wanted you to be there. Marianna was excellent and made our 3 night stay very memorable. She even gave me a... More

We (young couple) stayed in ELLA Hostel for 4 days (May 14-17). We took a double room with shared bathroom and I must say that I can only confirm the positive reviews here, I have never seen such CLEAN bathrooms in a hostel ! There are quite a lot of bathrooms and toilets so you never have to wait too... More

I didn't actually stay in this hostel but my sister did and I was there every day. I have to say this place is amazing! ! For not even being a guest here the staff were so friendly and helpful. From what I seen the place was spotless and even had a vending machine with ice cold beer....amazing! !! If... More

Nice, quiet and cute hostel very close to the center. The staff were friendly, the interior was lovely and clean. It was nice to have beverages available in the lounge area. When I got back at around midnight there was even a fruit basket, although this wasn't there for breakfast.

A nice experience staying in this unique hostel. Shared toilets were maintained clean and dry. Room was clean and reasonably furnished for a budget hostel. I would recommend this to my friends and family!

I went to Barcelona with my little girl and had the best time. The hostel is very clean with modern decor and modern shower rooms. The terrace is great and a total sun trap. The location is brill it took under 10mins to push the buggy to the rambles or the big park past the arc de triumph. We got... More

Even before we arrived, we were helped by Joana and Mariana with booking of a shuttle from the airport and giving us all the information we needed to prepare for our visit to Barcelona. We received a warm welcome and information about every aspect of our visit once we were there, including printing of tickets for museums. The hostel is... More

Although a little difficult to find on the street, this was totally forgotten when we walked into the hostel. The receptionists were so warm, helpful and friendly (and they stayed this way throughout our entire stay) and when combined with the quality of the rooms and bathroom, Ella was a great place to stay in Barcelona. Pretty good location, super... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
