While we liked the convenient location and while the property was old but still comfortable, it is located on a public square where "street people" and or homeless congregate during the night. We heard laughing, yelling and general roudiness after being awakened at 2 or 3am and it continued. We were there from April 26 to April 29 prior to... More

We stayed at the Colon in May, for a couple of nights. We were given Room 606, which has a huge balcony and a great view of the Cathedral and the Plaza below. The room was large, lots of closet and storage space. The view of the Cathedral from the bed was wonderful, but you can also close the metal... More

I stayed for three nights in late April 2012, after booking it as a 'mystery hotel' on a website. The first impression of the hotel is not as good as it could be, with slightly old-fashioned furnishings and decor. Further, the tap in the bath was missing any indication of how to switch between shower and bath; I spent quite... More

I spent 5 nights in Colon Hotel while in Barcelona. I was told to ask for a room on the 4th or 5th floor facing the Cathedral which is what I got. The room was perfect. What a view I had!!! The location is nice because you are so close to the waterfront, Placa Catalunya, Bari Gothic, and the Rambla.... More

I stayed in this hotel in late March.I liked the hotel very much. The rooms were spotless and the cleaning staff, seemed to be working all the time and they were so pleasant. The location is absolutely great, directly across a huge pedestrianised square from the main cathedral. Also, very close to La Rambla, just a few narrow, charming side streets away. The hotel is in the gothic area... I stayed here with my wife in early April and had heard that previous guests had had problems with its WiFi. When we arrived, indeed, WiFi was not working and it shocks me to read, now in May, that guests still seem to have problems. If it takes the hotel months to address a problem as simple as setting up... More

The hotel is a little dated in room decor, but very clean and very helpful staff. Nice outside cafe straight across from the Cathederal and nice morning breakfast inside. More

The hotel is opposite the cathedral in the plaza just 10 minutes walk from Pl de Catalunya and with a stop for the city bus tours less than two minutes away - excellent place to be for a tourist! Our room itself was nothing special but the rooms on the cathedral side (front of the hotel) appeared to be bigger... More

May 12, 2012. Stayed for 5 days. Room was small, but clean. Location is perfect, everything you need in walking distance. Free WiFi internet was terrible, available only late night or early morning. The worst thing was their front desk people service. They could not answer any question. They speak English, but no help at all. Either did not know... More
