First trip to Barcelona-and will not be my last. I loved everything about it-the people were friendly, the food - amazing seafood - and great inexpensive wines. I love Barcelona. One month was not enough. Walked photographing all hours of the day and night-especially the old sections of town. I felt safe walking those streets in the early morning hours!... More

If you don't mind a shared bathroom this is a really good choice. This was my second time here, all the rooms and shared bathrooms were kept tidy though could do with a slight upgrade. Located about a 15 minute walk from la ramblas, but it is a nice walk along wide avenues etc. staff are friendly though we didn't... More

The price was low, the location was great, but... If you arrive early, the guesthouse receptionist will tell you to comeback later, but you can ask him to keep your luggage, and there is a pastry shop nearby where you can wait. The room that I slept was located on the next entrance, and even knowing that the bathroom was... More

This is my second time staying in the Barcelona rooms. This hotel is great value for money and ideal for travellers who are looking for a cheap but clean and safe place to stay. Within walking distance to Las Ramblas, there are some nice sandwich shops and food places close by. The only flaw is the shared bathrooms. However they... More

This is a great hotel to stay in if you are on a budget. Even though the bathrooms are shared, everything was clean and looked tidy. The bed itself was not so good but if you're walking all day it works just fine to get some rest! The location is great, very close to the Ramblas on foot and it... More

This hotel is very basic but very clean. The bathrooms are shared but really clean and tidy. Great location about a ten minute walk from the centre of town. There are lots of cafes and restaurants located around the hotel. I would recommend this hotel and I would definitely stay here again. Great value for money.

Of the hostels that I've experienced (which are quite a few across Europe), this is one of my better experiences. The booking was simple (we booked through Hostelbookers.com), good communication from the hostel direct requesting our arrival time, which had to be before 9pm at night. The hostel is a couple of minutes walk from Urgell Metro stop. The entrance... More

pros are definitely the price and the fact that you are left to your own devices. While the shared bathroom was extremely clean our room wasn't entirely but that is nit picking, I certainly didn't feel like it was dirty. Only one towel per person, you have to pay extra for a hair towel. The shared bathroom isn't as strange... More

Pros: The location is absolutely great, close to the metro and at a 10 minutes distance from Plaza Calatunya and Plaza DÉspagna. It's very clean, they change the sheets and towels every 2 days. A lot of restaurants and supermarkets in the area. Cons: Be careful when making the reservation because they are very strict with the check-in hour. If... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
