The position was good in an older section near Las Ramblas and the sea front. There were nice little bars where locals gathered in the area. We walked everywhere from there. The place was old but adequately clean. We did get locked out once in the morning when we returned to pick up the camera that we had forgotten. Somebody... More

Booked this hostal last minute because of price and location, very busy in Barcelona (when is it not!). Was not expecting much because of some of the reviews I had read. What a pleasant surprise I got. The location and price were great, that much I knew already. The owner was in an adjacent bar when I arrived which I... More

The main owner or man that works at the hotel was horrible, yelled at us multiple times for nothing. The WiFi did NOT work in the room and we had to sit in the corner of the hallway to get service. Then he yelled at us for sitting in the corner even though we told him the WiFi didn't work.... More

This hostal only has its location going for it, half way between the beach and La Ramba, and the fact that the air conditioning worked in out room. The hostal was renovated in the last 10 years so it does have newer washrooms and newer doors as well as marble tile flooring throughout. Problem is that they used a flat... More

If you’re planning a holiday in Barcelona but are a little short on cash, this hostel will be a correct decision. The location is really great, close to all attractive spots of the city, you can walk everywhere. 5 minutes to La Ramblas, 5 minutes to the port, 10 minutes to Barcelonatta beach and 10 minutes to the beautiful park... For a three night stay in Barcelona Hostel Drassanes was a great location for visiting the central areas, Port Vell and the beach. There are some great bars within easy walking distance and it takes less than 5 minutes to get to the bottom of Las Ramblas. The rooms were basic but generally clean however towels were not changed during... More

Though other reviews were not good, we booked this hostal. It was very quiet, peaceful and clean. Our room was big enough for to young women and their luggage. Staff doesn't speak english very well but they are very nice. Hostal is in excellent location, easy to walk anywhere and close to metro. I recommend Hostal Drassanes!

Rooms are very small and very basic. We used as a base to get rest and nothing else and it did the job well for us. Location is very good and has many transport links close by as well as bars, and places to eat. I wouldn't stay here again but if your on a budget and dont mind very... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
