We stayed here for 3 nights in March 2015. Right from booking the service from Tony was brilliant. He emailed maps and great advice on travelling from the airport. His directions were spot on. When we arrived he met us and after showing us around the apartment he took time to recommend some good restaurants and gave us advice about... More

Stayed here in high season with my husband and children aged 6 and 4. B&B style, spacious bedrooms with a/c, shared bathroom and kitchen. Lovely roof top terrace with seating. Clean rooms with great quirky art on the walls. Very central location at the top end of the Ramblas; we walked many sights on foot. Super friendly and amenable host... More

Although this more a bed and breakfast place, I really liked it. If I come back to Barcelona I definitely will choose this place as it's I'm a perfect and safe location. Everything was super clean and the host is very friendly. We got homemade jelly for breakfast and it was delicious. I was surprise when I found in the... More

We loved it at Milkshake! Me and my boyfriend went for five nights and it is perfect for a couple who do not mind sharing a bathroom and kitchen with one or two other couples. However, not once did we have to wait for the bathroom. Tony was amazing. He was helpful before we even got to Barcelona with maps... More

Just back after a weeks stay in the 'blue room'. Nice and clean, spacious and good a/c. Tony, the owner was very friendly, giving excellent advice about places to eat and directions etc. The location was excellent and was only a 20sec walk from lots of restaurants without being too close. If you're on a budget and don't mind sharing... More

Strayed here for 5 nights, met good fellow travelers, very good neighborhood, close to metro and University area and Casa Battlo. Toni (owner) gave great tips on tapas and restaurants. Its clean, airy, and I had a good view of the street. Only issue may be that its can be reached only after taking 70 steps (no lift). Will def.... More

If you are looking for a great location and somewhere to lay your head, this is it. You must be fit as it is about 5-6 flights of stairs up with no lift. The owner gave us really helpful information before we arrived on how to find it and was kind enough to give us the tour and some really... More

I found Milkshake after scouring through Trip Advisor and I'm so pleased I did! Located in the University area a few minutes away from Gaudi's famous Casa Batlló and the metro, you couldn't wish for a better location. It's up three flights of stairs but it's worth it, and let's face it, that's great exercise! The flats are all clean... More

If you want a central location right next to La Rambla, this is the place for you, if you don’t want anything fancy, and just a clean bed in a room, with shared bathroom facilities. I am a person that would never stay in a place with shared bathrooms, and I’m a person that usually stays in 3-4 star hotels,... More

This was my first visit to Barcelona and the Milkshake guest house was the ideal place to stay. When we arrived Tony the proprietor spent 30 minutes orienting us to the neighborhood, restaurants, and nearby bus/metro lines going to other parts of the city. We walked to La Rambla, La Boqueria, Casa Batllo, Casa Mila, and Sagrada Familia. Barcelona was... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
