The staff there was really nice and helpful, the neighborhood - Las Ramblas - is one of the funniest in Barcelona. Totally recommend to stay there. You can stay on the streets around and drink some beers even inside the hostel with other guests.

The staff were not very helpful and blew us off when we had questions. Some of the guys at the desk actually made us feel very uncomfortable. The room was like a hallway so we could not walk by each other easily. It has good sized lockers and the having wifi was good. The breakfast was only cereal. the location... More

Rooms decent size. Huge lockers. Wifi on every floor. Laundry. Free breakfast. 5min walk to la rambla. Air con in my room was broken which sucked at night (so hot) and only 1 female/male shower/toilet on each floor. Reception staff lovely and helpful!

The atmosphere was fantastic here and I loved my short stay of only 1 night. BBQ on roof top terrace was pretty nice and breakfast wasnt amazin but what you get at most hostel included breakfasts. Tea & Coffee available all day is really cool. Its nice and close to the town and markets etc.

We stayed here for 5 nights in Barcelona. When we arrived the air conditioning was broken - absolute hell! It was so hot in the room (we were in the only room no the ground floor) and opening the windows made no difference because the windows opened onto a conservatory owned by somebody else, not actually the outside air! Luckily... More

This is a good central hostel with friendly staff. Free breakfast isn't amazing but it keeps you going. Good wifi and locker space locked by a key card so your stuff feels safe. Shower is small and only 1 per floor (one for boys and one for girls). Dorms are mixed sex.

I've traveller throughout Europe for the year and this would have to be the most expensive AND the worst hostel I've stayed in. The shower facilities are dodge - one on each floor for each male and female. The one on my floor has a glass door that doesn't shut properly so other than people being able to look through... More

Hot milk, toaster doesn't work, no mugs for hot drinks, cheap bread, no urn of hot water, small kitchen to wash dishes. 6 bed dorm was very very small. Aircon was good, large lockers provides in rooms. Only two bathrooms for each level, 18-20 people. Lift didn't work sometimes, some people got stuck in the lift. Ok washing facilities provided.... Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
