Based on some reviews I read I was unsure about this hostel but it was a lot better than I was expecting. Loved the rooftop terrace and it had a good common room which were very sociable. Noise was not an issue at nights. Dislikes were how narrow our room was, no extra shower door (no privacy while showering) and... More

Omg Ana was like sooooo helpful. What an absolute babe. I love her forever and ever. Tips for blokes who are interested in her in future, she loves spiders! Also, make sure you do the "boobies" trick on the calculator. She didn't get it but I had a giggle.

Pros: Aircon, elevator, free toast and cereal for breakfast Cons: No hot water, no toilet paper for two days, one toilet and one shower for a whole level, no additional door to the shower (I know When people go to the toilet they can see you shower)

Be sound had everything we wanted in our trip to Barcelona. Central location. Great staff. Clean rooms. There were also some fantastic free tours heading out everyday from the lobby. When I go back to Barcelona I'll be staying here again.

Had a decent experience here back in May. Lots of character, but VERY hard to sleep on the first floor. Highly recommend staying on an above floor. Wifi can be spotty at best. The front staff is rather helpful however and speaks plenty of languages..well priced when I went ($12 a night).

The staff there was really nice and helpful, the neighborhood - Las Ramblas - is one of the funniest in Barcelona. Totally recommend to stay there. You can stay on the streets around and drink some beers even inside the hostel with other guests.

The staff were not very helpful and blew us off when we had questions. Some of the guys at the desk actually made us feel very uncomfortable. The room was like a hallway so we could not walk by each other easily. It has good sized lockers and the having wifi was good. The breakfast was only cereal. the location... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Feel the beat of Barcelona! Be Hostels Sound is an awesome hostel right in the heart of the Barcelona city center. Our hostel is a reformed typical Barcelona apartment building- 6 floors tall with an amazing roof terrace, balconies on every floor, and great views of the bohemian Raval neighbourhood from every window. It’s the perfect place to watch the Barcelona life pass by. Close to all the best nightclubs and alternative spots in the city center, Be Hostels Sound is the perfect place to "come home to" at the end of your Barcelona day. Decorated and painted by local graphic artists, Be Hostels Sound is a modern hostel with a lot of personality. We offer our guests a big "chillout" room downstairs, a kitchen to save up money for the Barcelona sights and a big dining room with tables, lounge chairs and sofas to make your Barcelona stay as chill as possible. You are on vacation! Our rooms are mixed, with 6 or 8 beds and shared bathroom one every floor. All rooms have a personal locker for each traveller, A/C, heating, mirrors…. All rooms at Be Hostels Sound have big windows with great Raval and Barcelona neighbourhood views. If your room is on the street side, you also have a balcony!! The most important thing for us is that our travellers get a taste of what Barcelona is and what it represents for the people who live here. From Las Ramblas, to buildings with no straight lines, Barcelona is a very special city. Home to three of the most well-known Surrealist painters, Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, and Joan Miró, even the most famous art of Barcelona is grounded in a reality alternative to the one that the rest of us know. Open yours eyes and ears and feel the Barcelona vibe! Catch your dreams with us at Be Hostels Sound. ... more   less
